Favorite Send to FastDrawAdapted from Coach Hoiberg when he was at Iowa State, this drill is one of our favorites at Woodson. This is one of our "DNA Drills," or every day drills that make up the DNA of our program. If your team wants to/likes to push the pace, use Cyclone to emphasize that! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCompetitive transition defensive drill that ramps up the intensity in practice. Team accountability is embedded in each portion of the drill, as well as fundamentals of transition defense. This is also a terrific conditioner. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFull court, full skill drill utilizing the Dr. Dish as the outlet passer. Use it to train ball handling, outlet pass positioning, moves on the move, finishing off two feet, and more. The goal of total makes should vary by level - girls' varsity team starts out with the goal of 70 in 5 mins in November, should be nearing 100 in January. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe baseline drift action is phenomenal and one of the hardest actions to guard. Train multiple game-speed actions such as pass/cut, post shift, dribble drive, one-hand passing, etc. Great drill to compete with, as well! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPin & Skip is a great action to use against sagging man defenders and zone defense. Use the Dr. Dish as the low defender and skip the ball to a wide open shooter. Plenty of variations to keep the drill fresh and train multiple actions. Can use with a small group or your whole team. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawRead and React Circle Movement using the Dr. Dish. Anywhere from 4 players to your entire team can use this drill to simulate game like conditions and drill habits without the hassle and chaos of rebounding multiple balls. Great if you have limited space, time, or just want something different. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a competitive drill that utilizes the Dr. Dish with your whole team, or as few as two players. This drill is designed to last no longer than 5-6 minutes, and you can vary the spots from which your players get shots and initial passes from the Dish. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great competitive catch and shoot drill. You can use one or two partners and two balls-(one can be the passer and the other a rebounder). There are 5 spots on the floor-also 5 shots that are within most offenses. There are a few options for this drill: 1) First one to hit 5 consecutive shots wins. 2)How many can you make in 1 minute? 3) How many can you make in 2 minutes? Challenge: Shooter cannot move until he hits two in a row from each spot. If he misses more than three in a row he starts over. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a good competitive drill that can help you work on different finishes or shots from certain locations See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis Dr. Dish shooting drill is designed to get 3 point shots on the move laterally and to work on footwork. Whether you teach the 1-2 or the hop, this drill can get each player plenty of repetitions in 60 seconds. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis Dr. Dish shooting drill is designed to get 3 point shots on the move, meeting the pass, and with a level of conditioning built in. For a more difficult workout, move the cones further away and adjust the tempo accordingly. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA great drill that simultaneously improves your team and individual players offensively and defensively is a series of 3 on 3 drills. Offensively, we work on dribble hand-offs, cuts, shooting, passing, catching, screens, and timing. Defensively, we work on communication and the different ways to defend screens. I also like this drill because it helps to reduce turnovers. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGreat drill to teach your players how to get on the floor for a loose ball. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis shooting drill can be run for an individual or a group of players (1-4) and is a great drill to get up a large number of game-like shots in a short period of time. Move the cones further away from the 3pt line for added conditioning or closer to the 3pt line to keep legs fresh late in the season. See More
