Favorite Send to FastDraw"Corners" is our base zone offense against 1-3-1 zone, 3-2 zone, and any type of extended half court or 3/4 court. It provides great spacing to play against any form of trapping defense with the 2-1-2 alignment. Fake passes are critical, as well as not throwing passes with a lot of loft on them. Once in the scoring area, we look to dive our high post and flash to the middle when the ball gets to the corner. You can play just out of the 4 Corners alignment, run a blind pig backdoor, high ball screen or duck in. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Circle Motion is an easy offense to implement and provides opportunities to score from screening and cutting. The simplicity is what I like about the offense the most. The diagrams break down a lot of the details of how to execute the offense, and the embedded video shows what the options look like at game speed. I wrote a 30 page detailed breakdown of this offense and it is available for purchase on my sellfy: https://sellfy.com/coachhack.go/p/ten... Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we go through a series of drills we used with our post players during our guard/post breakdown portion of practice. We believed that using these basic drills on a regular basis would improve the footwork and touch of our interior players. We used medicine balls instead of basketballs while we filmed this, but that was not a regular occurrence. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we get a drill we used during our positional breakdown portion of practice for our post players. It teaches rebounding, offense and defense in some capacity, and challenges player’s endurance. I really like how it teaches players how to create shots inside with limited space. Favorite Send to FastDrawWe take great pride in being the best motion team we can be. Learning to play this way is not easy. I often compare motion to reading. It takes time, but once you know how it's really worth it. In order for our offense to be successful—we must play harder, smarter, and more together than our opponent. Our motion offense helps to coordinate all of our individual skills into a cohesive team unit. No longer will skills be thought of as individual, but rather a contributing asset to our team play. Each player will maintain his own creativity and initiative because our offense is flexible enough to expose such assets. Most often we function with four perimeter players around one inside player. There are also times when we are most efficient with our five best players on the floor. This five out, positionless concept is also the set we encourage all of our youth programs to implement. The advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. Too often a player is marked as a “big” early in his adolescence, only to stop growing by his freshman year. By this time his skill level is lagging behind the others and the transition back to the perimeter is insurmountable. If you are a youth coach, the greatest service you can do for your players is to teach them the fundamentals of the game and allow everybody to play inside and out. Our best teams have always been made up of highly skilled players who could do it all. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe ball gets reversed to the wing before a cross screen is set for the point guard to post up. Once the ball is inside, a stagger screen is set on the weak side for a shooter. That shooter however, will curl and screen for the shooting "4" player. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play, a staple of the San Antonio Spurs offense for years, has become a pet-play of Nick Nurse’s to start the game or half. Put into the Raptors playbook in the middle of the season, this play is used for Kawhi Leonard, Pascal Siakam, and Marc Gasol to get a post touch. The first option is for a post-up to score, but the second option/counter involves a kickout pass to leverage aggressive off-ball defense against itself. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a really great set especially if you have your best shooter inbounding it. The final ball screen will either force the inbounders man to tag the roller or leave the inbounder wide open for 3 on the shake action.
