Basketball Play - Team USA - EOG Baseline Curl Pop BLOB

Team USA - EOG Baseline Curl Pop BLOB

Matt Wheeler 02/26/2019

After missing a shot to take the lead in the final seconds of its game against Argentina, the USA Men's World Cup Qualifying Team found themselves in an end-of-game BLOB situation. They were down 1 with one second left in the game. Head Coach Jeff Van Gundy called a timeout to draw up this play to take advantage of a common late-game defensive tactic of switching all screens. 2 curls around 3 to force the defensive switch. This got the smallest defender on the court switched onto 3. 3 then pops to the corner to receive the pass from 1. Now having the size advantage over x2, 3 was able to rise up and make a tough contested shot against the smaller defender. Free Playbook: Late Game Situations See More

Basketball Play - Iowa Hawkeys - Double Stack Flex

Iowa Hawkeys - Double Stack Flex

Dustin Cooper 01/10/2019

A creative flex action used by Iowa head coach Fran McCaffrey. This play starts in a low double stack. This action is difficult to guard because x1 will tend to relax once he gets through the false back screen. As 1 comes off the back screen, he is immeditatley setting a flex screen for 2. This limits the time that x1 has to see the action develop. More: Shooting Drills that Enhance Your Flex Offense See More

Basketball Play - Gonzaga Bulldogs - Floppy Circle Hit

Gonzaga Bulldogs - Floppy Circle Hit

Dave Nedbalek 11/27/2018

This is an incredibly hard set to guard. Great action leading to an empty middle ball screen and if 1's defender is tagging the pick and roll like he should be, 1 will either be open on the throwback or 5 will be wide open at the rim. See the video below. Highly recommend watching Coach Few's teams play with scratch paper handy or FastDraw open! FMS Blog: Maui Invitational - Top 10 Plays See More

Basketball Play - Marquette - Diamond Husky ISO SLOB

Marquette - Diamond Husky ISO SLOB

Dave Nedbalek 10/31/2018

This is a great set for multiple looks. Obviously it is defended well but you can see the scoring opportunities very easily. My critique of this video is the pace with which Marquette runs it. I'd love to see 2 already sprinting as 3 pops for the catch. I also would like 4 and 5 to shape up after the screen as the switching left a mismatch somewhere. You could even have 4 and 5 cross screen to enhance this set. More on the FMS blog: NCAA Preseason Top 25 XsOs Click to view all plays by Coach Dave Nedbalek! See More

Basketball Play - Boston Celtics - SLOB Box Stagger/Iso Option

Boston Celtics - SLOB Box Stagger/Iso Option

Timothy Hipps 10/07/2018

The Boston Celtics ran 3 end of game sideline out plays with 18 seconds left in a game vs the Houston Rockets. With a defensive foul and a few offensive fouls drawn, the Celtics were able to get 3 possessions late in the game. This is the first SLOB Boston ran that only burned 5 seconds. It's an excellent EOG set for a quick 2 when the defense may be set to better defend the 3. See video below! The Boston Celtics ran 3 end of game sideline out plays with 18 seconds left in a game vs Houston Rockets on 12/28/17. With a defensive foul and a few offensive fouls drawn, the Celtics were able to get 3 possessions late in the game. This is the 3rd SLOB they ran that 3.5 seconds. This is an excellent end of game set that gets a quick 2 when the defense may be set to better defend the 3. It's ideal for getting a quick 2 and immediately fouling. The defending team may be focused on a particular player or defending the 3 point shot.
