Basketball Play - Texas Tech Red Raiders - Iverson Point Ricky

Texas Tech Red Raiders - Iverson Point Ricky

Dave Nedbalek 04/08/2019

This is another simple set that has high volume results. Depending on how the defense plays back-screens you can save this wrinkle for a key moment to get a great shooter a shot. If the defender is jumping to the ball and getting through the backscreen first the cutter can simply cut back out on the weak side for a wide open fade. The big can read the catch and go right into a step up screen if there is no advantage on the catch as well. A great wrinkle would be to slip your 5 man on the down-screen if there is switching or miscommunication. Blog Post: Texas Tech Defense Puts Opponents on Red Alert See More

Basketball Play - Texas Tech Red Raiders - Hot Action

Texas Tech Red Raiders - Hot Action

Dave Nedbalek 04/08/2019

This is an extremely difficult action to make x5 guard but is incredibly simple to run. We call this "Hot Action" which is a back screen off-ball, followed immediately by an on-ball screen. If the big tags the cutter on the back-screen as he should, unless they are switching, this puts him late to his ball screen coverage. Simple, yet effective. The play was designed for 3 to make an Iverson cut over 4 & 5 but he rejected the screen and still caught the ball on the wing. 4 cuts to the corner to take away a help defender on the lob as 2 sets the back screen for 5. #FastModelMadness NCAA Tournament: Viewing Guide by Style of Play See More

Basketball Play - Utah State Aggies - Double Rip Stagger

Utah State Aggies - Double Rip Stagger

Matt Wheeler 03/19/2019

Utah State frequently runs this play to get their leading scorer Sam Merrill (2) the ball coming off a screen, where he can attack the basket or take the open three. The first option looks for their 5 to get the ball at the rim off a double back screen. 2 then receives a stagger screen to get the ball at the top of the key. Basketball Play - South Dakota State - Punch 53

South Dakota State - Punch 53

Dustin Cooper 03/12/2019

A very effective quick hitter when you need a easy two. " Punch " is an action when the ball is entered into the post, which is very effective when you have a big who is a strong passer. In this action the ball is entered into the post and SDSU follows that with a back screen. How to Maximze March Madness with FastModel Sports! See More

Basketball Play - Tennessee State Tigers - Spread Rip Lob

Tennessee State Tigers - Spread Rip Lob

Matt Wheeler 02/26/2019

Tennessee State was down 2 late in the second half of their game against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and needed a basket to tie the game. They ran this wrinkle out of their spread offense to get a dunk off a lob pass. The play starts with the typical spread offense action of a dribble handoff, ball reversal and 4 cutting to the strong side corner. 1 diverts from his normal cut to the strongside elbow or block areas and sets a back screen for 5. The right side of the floor is cleared so 5 can be wide open for the lob pass from 2. Click for more Spread Offense content! See More
