Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this drill, there are 3 lines (1 with guards, 1 with wings, and 1 with post players). A coach starts with the ball on the opposite wing. In option 1, the drill starts with G passing to W and then G cuts through to the opposite corner. P steps out to set a ball-screen for W. W drives into the lane and hits P on the roll. The coach passes to the G in the corner and the post player on the baseline passes to W. The drill ends with all 3 players getting a shot. In option 2, it starts the same except that W will pass to G in the corner, coach will pass to W, and the post player on the baseline will pass to the post rolling off of the screen to the short corner. Favorite Send to FastDraw4 sets a down-screen for 5 at the block. If 5 isn't open on the initial cut, both 4 and 5 sprint up to set the ball-screen options for 1 at the top of the key. 1 chooses which screen to use and looks to turn the corner. Whichever screen is used, that player will roll and the opposite screener will pop for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 passes to 5 at the high post then cuts off of a back-screen from 4 into the lane. If 1 isn't open, 1, 2, and 3 clear to the left side of the floor. 4 sets a ball-screen for 5 giving 5 the entire right side of the floor to take his man to the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA set designed to have a big fake a pindown away screen and come off a down screen from the point guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a NBA Golden State Warriors Dribble Hand-Off / Pick and Roll Action from Game 3 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. Steve Kerr is doing an excellent job in getting great motion and action into his set plays for their players. The Golden State Warriors are the team that I want to watch in the NBA Play-offs for my new sets. Steve Kerry has installed a system that is like the NBA San Antonio Spurs in it's movement, flow and creativity. The starters and reserves have bought into this system all season. David Lee is even getting a second chance in these NBA Playoffs. He is seizing the moment too. Stephy Curry and Klay Thompson are indeed the Splash Brothers and either of them can go off for 20 points in a quarter at any moment. Curry is the MVP, but Thompson is likely to go off on any night. They were one of the best teams ever in the regular season, despite the trip up from the always difficult Memphis Grizzlies. I love this action and you will notice that I chose a play where Steph Curry isn't in the game. It's an example of how their reserves have bought in. Favorite Send to FastDrawStruggling to score against Golden State in Game 5, Dave Joerger called a timeout and setup a nice "Blind Pig" set to get an easy score. Knowing that Golden State was playing aggressive and overhelping on any screen that a guard cut off of, he had Gasol flash to the high post after Conley exited the screen and received the ball. After he caught the ball, Conley cut backdoor with his man on the high side, and Gasol hit him with a nice backdoor pass for a floater. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUse four-player shell drill to teach all aspects of defensive postioning. Help defenders should follow line rules. Defensive players should jump to the pass as the ball moves. When players are one pass away they are in deny. When on the ball, influence to the appropriate checkpoint. Drill Advancement: Drive gaps and practice "plugging with your butt." Attack baseline an practice help and help the helper Weakside exchange from offensive players Screen away Skip passes to drill closeouts. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles right then back to the top of the key pushing 4 to the block and 3 to the corner. As 1 dribbles left, 5 flashes to the high post. Once 5 has the ball, he looks to pass inside to 4. If 4 isn't open, 5 gives the ball to 3 on a dribble hand-off and 2 screens across the lane for 4. If 4 isn't open, 5 screens down for 2 for a shot on the wing. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw2 starts with the ball out-of-bounds and 1 cuts up the lane line to get the ball. 1 dribbles right as 2 cuts off of screens from 5 and 4. 1 passes to 4 then moves to the opposite wing. 2 gets a ball-screen from 4 and attacks middle. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMemphis ran this early offense action in Game 2 versus the Warriors. It features a thru cut by Mike Conley, and several different options branching off. 5 sets a wide pindown for 2 while 1 finishes his thru cut and curls off of 4 on the block. 3 can hit 2 on the pindown, 1 on the thru cut, or 4 sealing for a post up. If none of these options are available, 3 can reverse back to 2 and set up 2-man game with the 5, opening up a whole new set of options. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSet used by Florida coach Billy Donovan. Good versus a wing deny team that gets into the passing lane aggressively. Also a good way to post isolate a point guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the left as 4 sets a down-screen for 5. 5 sprints out to set a ball-screen for 1. 1 drives to the right looking to pass to 5 rolling to the basket, 4 filling up, or to 2 on the wing for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIndiana Pacers set play designed to get an open shot coming off the elevator screen. If the defense falls asleep, the first option off the down screen and cut to the basket is a quick hit for a look to score. See More
