Basketball Play - Celtics Loop DHO

Celtics Loop DHO

Adam Spinella 01/03/2015

Doc Rivers ran this with the Boston Celtics during their Big Three era with Rajon Rondo at the point. Rivers would get the ball back into the hands of Rondo coming off a series of screens, and trying to get a three-man action with Rondo, Ray Allen and a big. See More

Here is a set that you can use after a time out, late game situation or early offense. The ultimate goal is to get the ball inside to your post to work 1 v 1. It takes advantage of how the defense handles the intial ballscreen and is a counter when the post defender is sliding to the mid-line to help on the potential drive by the (1). It can be used vs. Man/Zone. See More

This is a great set to run out of transition or dribble drive. 1 can pass the ball up to the wing or dribble handoff to 2. 4 trails directly in to set an on ball. This is hard to guard for x2 who is managing a dribble handoff, traffic from 1 and x1 and then an on ball screen from 4. See More

Basketball Play - Slip

Slip

Kyle Gilreath 12/23/2014

UCONN's Geno Auriemma demonstrated this play this Summer at Coaching U Live in Las Vegas. This is a simple action that you get the floor moving early in the offense and keeping both bigs involved and creating hard to guard situations. As 3 comes off the pick, if X5 engages the ball and helps, a throwback to 5 may lead to a quick feed to 4. However, if 5 quickly shows and starts to get back, that is opportunity for 4 to come out and flare 5...4 has another opportunity to slip after setting the flare. See More

Hawk 42

Kyle Gilreath 11/01/2014

Last night during LeBron James' homecoming, the Cleveland Cavaliers ran this action to start off their game vs the Knicks to kick off the 2014-15 season. Running LeBron to the weak side put more attention on the pin-down for 5 (Varejao) as the Knicks thought the action would be going to James' side of the floor. However, the Cavs sneaked in 4 (Love) behind the rim off a cross screen and was able to seal his defender for an easy catch and score. See More

This Cleveland Cavaliers' coach David Blatt set is poetry. Everybody gets involved. The ball touches both sides of the floor- simutaneously breaking down the defense. What is great about this play is the backdoor cut is always open. Also, this is a fantastic offense to practice in the preseason. It will help your team read the defense a lot better and look for different ways to score. See More

Basketball Play - Hammer

Hammer

Sebastian Wild 08/10/2014

This Hammer play has been on of the staples in our offense. It combines in Ballscreen-, Backscreen- and multiple Handoff (and back door) options, a number of actions that are very hard to defend. Especcially when they happen "in flow" and off of constant movement. It'll give all of your players touches and scoring opportunities, while playing on multiple sides of the floor. See More
