Basketball Play - SLOB - Back Screen with Flare Screen

SLOB - Back Screen with Flare Screen

Basketball HQ 02/09/2013

This play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. You want to have your biggest guard take the ball out and your smallest guard to set the back screen. You want to create a defensive mismatch incase teams try to switch guard on guard action. You have to make sure you work with your 4 man on being able to read the flare screen or having your 5 man slip the flare screen. See More

Basketball Play - Shallow Cut into Double Flare

Shallow Cut into Double Flare

Kyle Brown 10/18/2012

A set that has a lot of options to score for the 3. 1st action is the double flare at the elbow. 1 man can slip this screen (guard to guard action) for an easy score. 5 really has to headhunt on this flare. The play can finish many different ways with ballscreen actions. If your 3 can create off a ballscreen then the throwback to 5 and the pass and follow could be really good. See More

Basketball Play - Chest

Chest

Kyle Brown 10/17/2012

A middle 1/3 ballscreen play with a live dribble is incredibly diffucult for the defense to guard. An easy counter to this play would be to slip the 1st ballscreen. This look is something that Vanderbilt has ran against teams that hedge pick & rolls. See More
