A middle 1/3 ballscreen play with a live dribble is incredibly diffucult for the defense to guard. An easy counter to this play would be to slip the 1st ballscreen. This look is something that Vanderbilt has ran against teams that hedge pick & rolls.

1 to 4.
5 cuts up to the ballside elbow.

1 replaces himself and gets pass from 4
2 & 3 space to corner.

1 comes off stagger ballscreen for 1 who looks to turn the corner.

4 & 5 then set stagger away for 2 out of the corner.
4 slips his screen and rolls to the basket.
