Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Chicago Bulls summer league team used multiple actions to set up the elevator screen. Though only 2's defender had to defend the elevator screen, 4 & 5's defenders had to guard additional screening action right before the elevator screen (a stagger dribble handoff for 3). The multiple screening action makes it more difficult for them to provide help on the elevator screen. Blog Post: Offensive Actions Breakdown - Elevator Screens See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Minnesota Lynx used this pindown action to get an open shot off a screen for Seimone Augustus early in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals. 1 dribbled to the wing as 2 (Augustus) cut off the zipper screen. Once 2 received the pass from 1, the Lynx went to a Horns/Elbow formation with 5 flashing to the elbow and 1 cutting to the corner. After 2 passes to 4 she cuts to the basket to set up the pindown screen for 5, which gets her an open shot at the free throw line. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Minnesota Lynx ran this play designed to get 5 a post up opportunity at the rim. 1 followed her pass to 5 to receive a handoff. 1 turned the corner trying to drive as 5 cut to the rim. 4 popped up top to receive the pass from 1. x5 tried to front 5 in the post but 5 did a good job of walking her up the lane, which created space for the high low pass at the rim. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe LA Sparks ran this play late in the 4th quarter of Game 1 of the WNBA Finals to try to get 4 isolated in the post off of the back screen from 2. After 2 sets the flex screen 3 continues cutting to the corner to get 2 & 4 isolated on the weak side of the floor. 2 sets the back screen on 4 then pops out to receive the pass from 5. 4 looks to pass to 4 but in this situation the post entry was defended well and the Sparks went to a secondary option with a ball screen. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Brooklyn Nets summer league team used this play against the LA Lakers to get a look for 1 cutting to the basket for a layup or 4 popping to the corner for a shot. The shuffle cut from 1 off the screen from 4 forced x4 to help or they would give up a layup. This got 4 open for the shot along the baseline. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCreative ball screen set ran by the Boston Celtics this season. Boston used this action to flow into an elbow ball screen for a guard who had a stretch 4 replacing behind the ball screen. Having the center come off a zipper down screen is a creative design on an already tough action to guard. See More
