Favorite Send to FastDrawSLOB set ran by the U20 Serbian team in the Eurobasket Championships in 2015. Timing of the down screen set by 4 should be practiced for timing purposes. 4 should set down screen for 2 once 1 starts the cut up to 5 to receive the stationary DHO in the slot. The false action in this set creates a solid opportunity out of the spread pick and roll. The ball coverage of the ball screen (x2) will be weak and late due to the down screen set by 4 and also with the DHO by 1. As a result, this will put extra pressure on the defending big involved on the ball screen (x5) and should create an advantage out of the spread pick and roll. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics ran this play with the score tied and 36.3 seconds left in game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics wanted to get a quick score within 5 or 6 seconds so they would end up with the last possession of the game. As 2 gets the inbounds pass, 3 & 4 cut to the corners for spacing. 1 sets a brush screen for 2, allowing 2 to drive hard right looking for a layup or a kickout to a shooter. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics used some misdirection action to get the ball into the post in this ATO late in game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. After the ball is inbounded to 3, 5 & 4 set a decoy staggered screen for 1. 5 slips the first screen to get the ball isolated in the post, where he can attack 1 on 1. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw"The Hill" is named after Greenhill School in Addison, Texas. At the 2017 TABC (Texas Association of Basketball Coaches) Clinic, there was a "Pass the Chalk" Event. This SLOB was drawn by Greenhill School boys varsity basketball coach, Joey Sims. I have added a double stagger to the end of the set, so that there is a secondary action, if the lob is not available. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA sideline out of bounds by Basketball Champions league winner Iberostar Tenerife. This is an example of an inbound connecting to offense seamlessly (In this case, Spread Ball Screen). This also demonstrates the TAKE and TWIST concepts. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe San Antonio Spurs used this SLOB play with only 4.5 seconds left on the shot clock to get an easy layup. The Spurs used a common play with the elevator screen as a decoy adding a back screen to it. Kawhi Leonard (4) did a good job of keeping x4 on his top side as he set the elevator screen with 5. This allowed 5 to set a quick back screen and get 4 a wide open layup. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Spurs trailed the Grizzlies by 3, with 22 seconds left, and had the ball on the sideline. Popovich and the Spurs are known for their "Hammer Action," which is a baseline drift play. After a zipper screen to get the ball inbounds, the Spurs designed a "Hammer Action." Behind Kawhi Leonard's drive, they set a down screen for Patty Mills. The misdirection put the Grizzlies into a defensive scramble. On the pass to Mills, Kawhi's defender left to help. Kawhi spaced to the corner, where Mills made the extra pass. This resulted in a wide open 3 for Kawhi Leonard, which tied the game. In the tough scenario of needing a 3, late in the game, the Spurs got the rare uncontested look. A great design, with tremendous execution. Despite Marc Gasol's game winning shot, handing the Spurs a loss, this was the obvious "Xs and Os Play of the Game!" See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSLOB/COB action from the Milwaukee Bucks. 1 can backdoor cut to basket if X1 overplays or miscommunication on switch. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 29.8 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter and the OKC Thunder trailing the Denver Nuggets by 4 points, Billy Donovan ran this ATO action for Russell Westbrook to get a drive. The initial action by Victor Oladipo curling off of the stagger screen is decoy action to create movement. Steven Adams follows and sets a second screen for Westbrook. Adams diving to the basket after the screen puts pressure on the defense for a potential lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 9 seconds left on the shot clock, under 2 minutes to go, Mississippi State ran this set to get their leading scorer, Victoria Vivians, a wide open 3 to put them up 1 over UConn. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawKansas finished off a run with this SLOB play in their sweet sixteen game against Purdue. 1 makes a zipper cut to receive the inbounds pass from 4. 4 makes an Iverson cut off of screens from 3 & 5. Once x4 curls over the top of 5, x5 has to provide help at the rim. In this play he didn't and 4 was able to get the lob dunk. Another key is 1 selling the Iverson cut for 4 by following him with the dribble. 1 cuts back before the cut to the rim to set up a better passing angle. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 13:22 left in the second half, St. Mary's ran this SLOB into Horns action for a layup. They had their best three point shooter on the ball side to eliminate help, leading to a 1 on 1 footrace between the point guard and his screened defender. 5 is their best player, and he uses his body to shield 1's defender from the ball on the laker cut. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Cavaliers used this quick hitting SLOB to help them get a look at a 3 late in their game against the Houston Rockets. When 1 comes off the flare screen he immediately attacks baseline forcing x5 to help on the drive. This prevents x5 from providing help on the screen that 5 sets for 3 and gets 3 an open shot.
