Favorite Send to FastDrawCrean uses a variety of down screen / cross screen actions to make the defense move. This play also uses up quite a bit of time. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Hoosiers use a "twist" action with two ball screens set for the point guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBrad Stevens uses Isaiah Thomas as a screener frequently because of the extra attention the Celtics' top scorer receives. A common screen-the-screener action is the Flex set up, where Thomas would come off a down screen after setting the Flex. Instead, he sets a back screen here after the flex, with the rim unguarded on the flex overload for an easy alley oop opportunity. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe 2 pops to the weakside wing. The 1 sets a back pick for the 5 and gets a screen from the 4 in a pick the picker action to get him the ball on the strong side wing. Immediately on the catch the 1 drives baseline. The 5 sets the hammer screen to bring the 2 to the corner. The 2 can also cut on the inside if his defender jumps to the outside to take the corner away. The 4 can set a screen for the 3 as well. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAustralia ran this play down 85-84 with 41.4 seconds left in their bronze medal game against Spain. Matthew Dellavadova (1) got the inbounds pass off of the screen from 3 and drove baseline looking for Patty Mills (2)in the corner. Spain took away the hammer screen from Aron Baynes (5), so Mills cut to the FT line and received the pass from 1 for the shot to give them the lead. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSerbia ran this play with 1:06 left in the 3rd quarter in the gold medal game against Team USA. They were able to use the backscreen to get a good look at a layup. This play also has an option for a screen for a shooter if the post player isn't open. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTeam USA ran this play with 5:14 left in the 1st quarter in the gold medal game against Serbia. The relatively easy screening action proved difficult to guard when they put two shooters at the 4 (Kevin Durant) and the 2 (Klay Thompson) spots. Serbia was able to deny the initial pass to Durant but when he cut to the wing his defender had to stick with him. This gave space to Thompson to read the screen and get open along the baseline for the shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAustralia ran this play down 89-88 with 5.4 seconds left in their bronze medal game against Spain. Though Australia was unsuccessful in finishing with a score, this play provided 2 options for a handoff to get a ball handler going to the basket for a layup. Spain was able to fight through the first handoff option with 4 and deny it. On the second handoff option Australia was trying to get the ball to Patty Mills (2). x1 and x2 switched the screen and x1 denied the handoff, tipping the ball away and taking away a shot opportunity for the Australia. Favorite Send to FastDrawSpain ran this SLOB play on their final 2 possessions of the bronze medal game. In both situations they were down 1 and they were able to draw fouls to get them 2 free throws. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe women's team from France uses this SLOB play to quickly get the ball inside. x4 has to help in defending the staggered screen, so 4 usually has no problem receiving the ball up top. The cuts from the wings help to draw attention from their defenders. This isolates the post players so they can make the high low pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach K and Team USA ran this set at the beginning of the second quarter vs France in the 2016 Olympic preliminary round. The key to this set is the quick ball movement and the spacing that 4 needs to get out of the DHO before receiving the backscreen from 5. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSerbia ran this sideline out of bounds play down 94-91 against Team USA with 5.2 seconds left. There were three options for 3 point shooters with 2 cutting to the corner, 4 flaring to the weakside wing, and 1 coming back to the ball. 1 got open from the brush screen by 5 but Kevin Durant used his length on the ball to force a tough pass and broke the play up. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Spurs run this action to get the ball to Tim Duncan in the post. Duncan gets the ball and quickly gives it back to the point guard. 5 then sets a ball screen for 1 as Duncan runs off of a staggered back screen to the left block. See More
