Basketball Play - Miami Box Lob

Miami Box Lob

Al Baker 08/28/2013

This is based on a lob play the Miami Heat run for Dwyane Wade. We added onto it when teams started taking away the lob late in the season. The secondary actions are excellent in late-game situations. It's critical that you teach 3 to cut hard off the initial screen, as most teams will deny the inbound to him and set up the back screen nicely. See More

Basketball Play - Twist

Twist

Alan Peel 08/25/2013

"Twist" is a counter to "Oakland" that was presented earlier. This play, like "Oakland", was one we ran while I was coaching at Turner High School in Kansas City, KS. The only difference was that we had #1 throw the ball inbounds instead of #3 as the diagram shows. Basketball Play - Granger Sts Iso

Granger Sts Iso

Adam Spinella 08/23/2013

Instead of "over-coaching" and getting difficult looks for your players at the rim, you can now relax and draw forth the following plays to get your best players in isolation at the end of a game. In isolation sets, all the work by the coach is done before the player gets the ball. From there, it's up to the superstar to make a great one-on-one play. Danny Granger hit the game winner off this isolation set, drawn up by Frank Vogel out of a Box formation. See More

Basketball Play - Triangle Quick

Triangle Quick

Kyle Gilreath 08/12/2013

Last night I wanted to get to bed early after moving all weekend but got caught watching the 2008 NBA Finals between the Lakers-Celtics, and I couldn't turn it off! This is an action out of Phil Jackson's Triangle Offense that allows for two simultaneous scoring cuts from Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher. If the defense over helps on either screen slip 3 or 4 to the rim. See More

Basketball Play - Florida

Florida

Alan Peel 08/07/2013

This is a play that can provide several options at the end of the clock. When teaching this play, it is important that you place an emphasis on taking what the defense gives you. They will either give you a two or a three based on how they defend the play. For more, check out my website www.coachpeelbasketball.com, sign up for a membership and get your first 30 days free.
