Basketball Play - Callisburg Ladycats - Vegas Early Offense

Callisburg Ladycats - Vegas Early Offense

Robert Payne 06/21/2018

This early offense is designed to create a quick hit for a trailing 5, using a down screen spot up or back screen for a layup. It works on either side of the court. This action creates pick/roll, pick/pop, and drive/kick opportunities. We use this to get a quick look and then roll into our offensive set. The 3 is our best decision maker /shooter. See More

Basketball Play - Steph Curry Relocate Shooting Drill

Steph Curry Relocate Shooting Drill

Jordan Petersen 06/12/2018

Steph Curry is one of the best in the NBA at relocating after driving and dishing. He sprints out after the penetration to open space and this creates many open looks for himself. In this drill, players will work on spacing off of a drive as well as relocating to space after a drive. This can be done from multiple areas on the court (as shown), using 2-5 players, and using a Dr. Dish Shooting Machine. See More

Basketball Play - Cleveland Cavaliers - Swing Flare Slip

Cleveland Cavaliers - Swing Flare Slip

Matt Wheeler 05/22/2018

Cleveland ran this ATO play to take advantage of Boston's tactic of switching the flare screen, and got a layup for Jeff Green (4). The play started with LeBron James (3) cutting to the top to receive the pass from 1. This got the ball in the hands of their best passer. 4 sets the flare screen for 2 and slips to the basket. 5 sets a flare screen for 1 on the other side of the floor to occupy the defense. Austin Anderson 05/15/2018

This play is also from Boston's Point Series. The play is initiated by "point" i.e. a single away. The 1 will follow his pass and 2 recieves a back screen to the paint from 5. As the 2 runs off a baseline single from 4, 5 sets a pin for 3. The entire defense is involved guarding singles on both sides. Basketball Play - Boston Celtics - EOG Clear Lob SLOB

Boston Celtics - EOG Clear Lob SLOB

Matt Wheeler 05/07/2018

This play was #20 on the most downloaded plays of 2018! Check out the full list and download the playbook: The Top 25 Plays of 2018 The Boston Celtics were down 2 with 25.8 seconds left in regulation when Brad Stevens called a timeout, noticing his team was not likely to get a good shot attempt late in the shot clock. The Celtics used this play to combat the late game switching strategy that the 76ers were using and get a quick shot at the rim. 5 started the play by curling around the screen from 4 and to screen for 1. This occupied Philadelphia's defenders and forced the only help on the lob to come from x1 as he switched onto 5 on the screen. Jaylen Brown (2) then screened for 4 and cut to the rim. Because the 76ers were switching that screen, Brown was able to seal his new defender and cut to the basket to receive the lob pass for a quick finish. Basketball Play - Boston Celtics - EOG Post Seal SLOB

Boston Celtics - EOG Post Seal SLOB

Matt Wheeler 05/06/2018

This play was #14 on the most downloaded plays of 2018! Check out the full list and download the playbook: The Top 25 Plays of 2018 The Boston Celtics were down 1 with 8.4 seconds left in overtime when the got the ball stuck in the corner and they had to call a timeout to save the possession. They initially ran a play to get the ball to Jayson Tatum but had to call their final timeout when the 76ers nearly forced a five-second call on the inbounds pass. Down to their final chance, the Celtics ran this play to get Al Horford (5) isolated at the rim. The 76ers were switching all screens to keep the Celtics from getting an open look. This worked to the Celtics advantage as Horford screened for 2, bringing Joel Embid (x5) away from the basket to deny the pass to 2. x2 and x3 had already switched assignments when 3 cut along the baseline. This isolated Horford against Robert Covington (x3) in the post. Covington fronted Horford to deny the pass but with the weak side cleared, Horford sealed his defender to get the lob pass at the rim for the game-winning basket. Basketball Play - Philadelphia 76ers - Stagger Away SLOB

Philadelphia 76ers - Stagger Away SLOB

Austin Anderson 05/04/2018

Philadelphia 76ers SLOB action. A majority of Philly SLOB's will start with a strong side back screen and a weak side pin to the top. Play is designed to get Convington/Redick/Belinelli coming off a stagger away. Embiid has the ability to drive from the elbow. Covington/Redick/Belinelli are exceptional at reading the defense and will either get an open jumper or be able curl the stagger to the rim. See More

Basketball Play - Philadelphia 76ers - 25 Pop SLOB

Philadelphia 76ers - 25 Pop SLOB

Austin Anderson 05/04/2018

Philadelphia 76ers SLOB Action. Philly loves running regular actions out of SLOB looks. A majority of its SLOB's will start with a strong side back screen and a weak side pin to the top. In this action from there, Simmons gets them into their "Ear Tug" Series which looks a lot like "Horns". "Number-Number" tells you who is involved in the action. So for Ear Tug 25 Pop, the 2-5 are in action. Simmons comes off the 2 (Redick/Belinelli) and the 2 is flared by the 5 all the way out to the wing (Pop). Redick/Belinelli have the green light to shoot if they get open. Simmons then receives a RIP/Back screen from the 5 and clears. If the lob or dump down to Simmons is there, they will take it. Sequence ends with Embiid playing a 2-man game with Redick/Belinelli. See More

Basketball Play - Slingshot Concept

Slingshot Concept

Jordan Petersen 05/01/2018

"Slingshot" is a ball screen concept to take advantage of switching defenses when a big gets matched up with a guard. After the switch, the ball handler retreats to create space between the defender then attack down hill. If the defender backs up, then the ball handler shoots the ball. If the defender steps up, then the ball handler attacks the basket. Commonly used by the Indiana Pacers with Victor Oladipo to take advantage of his downhill speed and outside shooting ability. Basketball Play - Zalgiris Kaunas - Stagger Zip Spain BLOB

Zalgiris Kaunas - Stagger Zip Spain BLOB

Sergey Tkachenko 04/28/2018

Here is a creative way Zalgiris uses Spain PNR in a baseline out of bounds situation. Play begins with a stagger into a zipper for the inbounder who catches at top of the key. Spain action ensues from here (frame 3) with 1 setting the back screen and popping, Having 3 and 4 cut through to opposite corners during this primary action offers some nice misdirection to distort the defense. Basketball Play - Zalgiris Kaunas - Side PNR Spain Action

Zalgiris Kaunas - Side PNR Spain Action

Kostas Kalogeropoulos 04/20/2018

Coach Sarunas Jasikevicius of Zalgiris Kaunas likes to camouflage Spain PNR action by starting with a diamond set, misleading the defense to believe it's a choice set for a guard. The back screen is set by a good shooter, so if his defender commits to 5's roll, he'll have an open shot. Great play to use in late game situations or for a surprise score.
