Boston Celtics - Early Offense - Push Action

Austin Anderson 05/19/2018

The Celtics possess one of the most skilled and interchangeable rosters of the NBA. This post provides several variations of Boston's Push Action. This early offense is designed to create a 2 man game on either side of the court. Rozier, Smart, Brown or Tatum can occupy any perimeter spot. Horford, Morris, Tatum, Baynes or Monroe can play the 4/5 spots. This action creates pick/roll, pick/pop, and drive/kick opportunities. Boston Celtics - Point Curl

This play is also from Boston's Point Series. The play is initiated by "point" i.e. a single away. The 1 will follow his pass and 2 recieves a back screen to the paint from 5. As the 2 runs off a baseline single from 4, 5 sets a pin for 3. The entire defense is involved guarding singles on both sides. This action is from Boston's Point Series. Boston's "Point" is a simple wide single away. The visual cue is the ball handler "pointing" for the action. Brown, Tatum, and Smart will bounce it out for a step up screen and Horford will look to seal in paint. Check out more options off of this basic Point set. Cleveland Cavaliers - 3/1 Middle PNR

Cleveland is at its best when LeBron James creates opportunities for others. Simple actions such as the 3/1 middle pick and roll create opportunities for James (3) to attack downhill. With the personnel Cleveland has, shooters are spaced for kick outs, and Tristan Thompson (5) is put in position for lob opportunities off dribble penetration. See More

Basketball Play - Golden State Warriors - Elbow Quick

Golden State Warriors - Elbow Quick

Golden State Warriors Hghi Post Action. This is a simple look to get players moving on both sides. This action can be run on either side of the court. Normally, 1-4 are interchangeable. What is really scary is when the Warriors run this action with Kevin Durant and Draymond Green at the 4 and 5. If Green is at the 5, the ball goes to him regardless of what side of the court he is on. After the ititial pass, the Warriors have Curry, Thompson or Durant running off pin downs. If Durant or Thompson curl away off Curry, Curry pops out and the GS plays from there. FMS Blog: Impact Player - How Draymond Green Makes Winning Plays See More

Golden State Warriors - Fist Down

Middle Pick/Roll Action from GSW. With having interchangeable players, 1-4 could initiate the play. Durant or Green could occupy the "4" spot in this set. This action is designed to get a high slip into a weak side single with a strong side single as well. Curry and Thompson need very little room for a catch/shoot opportunity. If they don't get an open look, they will just play... Pass/Cut, Screen Away, Ball Screen, or Durant Iso. FMS Blog: Impact Player - How Draymond Green Makes Winning Plays See More

Basketball Play - Golden State Warriors - Early Random Offense

Golden State Warriors - Early Random Offense

Austin Anderson 05/14/2018

Golden State plays at a fast pace and pushes the tempo. Any time Durant or Green initiates the break, watch Curry and Thompson. Those two are the best at busting out for transition 3's, early movement, and creating opportunities for others. It often doesn't look like much, but the Warriors head hunt to get Curry and Thompson open 3's. FMS Blog: Impact Player - How Draymond Green Makes Winning Plays See More

Basketball Play - Golden State Warriors - Drag to Post

Golden State Warriors - Drag to Post

1 throug 4 can bring the ball up for GSW. In this look, the trail big sets the drag and rolls to the post. For the Warriors, this could be Green, Durant, McGee, West, or even Iguodala. If they can't score immediately off the post catch, the strong side wing elbow screens for the perimeter in the top spot. Usually this spot gets occupied by Curry or Thompson. Golden State Warriors - Drag Open

Golden State is efficient, and its offense has interchangeable parts as 1-4 can bring the ball up the court at any given time. With the firepower the Warriors possess, defenses have to sprint back and get matched up ASAP. They utilize quick opportunities with drag screens and wing pin downs. If they don't get an open look, Durant, Curry, or Thompson will back it out and just play. FMS Blog: Impact Player - How Draymond Green Makes Winning Plays See More
