Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a continuous shooting drill that allows our forwards to work on games shots and adds a conditioning element. Once completed on the right side immediately start on left. We like to have each player go through this drill two times then switch shooter. You can add time to increase intensity. We used the video below as inspiration to tailor the drill to our personnel. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis multipurpose drill works on both defense and offense. Players must react quickly when the coach chooses a player to throw the ball to on either block. The player on offense must score at the basket against immediate pressure. The player on defense attempts to prevent a basket without fouling. Make the drill competitive by keeping score (defensive stops, made baskets, etc.). Click for more #PlayerDevelopmentWeek content! See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawAs part of #PlayerDevelopmentWeek I am putting together a series of drill progressions that we use in order to develop skills to fit our Dribble Drive Motion Offense. In this second installment we are looking at "Finishing at the Rim". What we are hoping for our players is that they can finish at the rim from multiple angles, and with a variety of finishes. The "1/0 Technique" Drill below makes our players finish from the three most common angles within our offense; 1) The Slot Drive, 2) The Wing Drive from the Corner, and the 3) Baseline Drive. We want our players to feel comfortable finishing with at least 1-2 different techniques from both their strong hand and their weak hand. So over the course of the season we will emphasize these finishes; 1) Extended Arm, 2) Scoop, 3) Inside Hand, 4) Stride Stop, 5) Jump Stops, & 6) Reverse Pivots. The "1/1 and 2/2 Russian" Drills are good once we have moved beyond the Phase A portion of finishing. Those two drills are not only fun for the players, but represent very common finishing opportunities within our offense, 1) The Slot Drive with an advantage and 2) The Drop Pass. Favorite Send to FastDrawDrill to work on finishing against a help side defense. Can add on-ball defender on the ball handler's hip to increase difficulty. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDefender stands at the elbow facing the basket. Offense is on the baseline and dribbles out to the defender and goes around the defender. Once the offense turns the corner it is live. Offense is getting shoulder tip hip/chest and trying to cut off or veer defense to finish. ADD ON: Dribble decision making/change of direction move can be added. Defender can lift up right or left arm to signal what way the offense must go around. See More
