Basketball Play - North Florida - Flat Flex BLOB

North Florida - Flat Flex BLOB

Lucas Shapiro 02/02/2016

There can’t be a better feeling for a coach when they run a play that gets the highest percentage shot in basketball. This is a great set by North Florida for a lob or layup. The player on the strong side block simply pops up to the elbow while the player in the strong side corner receives a flex screen. If you are playing a team that does not like to switch or zone on their inbounds defense, this would be a great set to incorporate. See More

Basketball Play - Horns Flex Double

Horns Flex Double

Timothy Hipps 01/23/2016

This is the very common horns flex action that most teams run. Romelo Trimble runs through the two high post bigs and for the flex cut and returns to the top for a dribble handoff. The flex cutter then uses and staggered screen on a zipper cut to catch and shoot. See More

Basketball Play - Xavier Horns Flex Pin

Xavier Horns Flex Pin

Bert DeSalvo 01/09/2016

Here is a Horns Flex set that Xavier executed vs. rival Cincinnati on Dec 12th, 2015. The option allows for the cutter to come off a flex screen or pin down. Two-man game results while similar actions occur on the weak side of the court. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0dRRaehJsc See More

Basketball Play - Flex Breakdown Drill

Flex Breakdown Drill

TERMINOLOGY OF SPOTS IN THE OFFENSE Set the down screen WIDE off of the lane line to open up the 3 types of cuts. If the screen is set too close to the lane there is no spacing for reading screens. READ THE SCREEN Always look to read the down screen in our 4 MAN FLEX. This time the defender, X2 plays under the screen and the 2 man reads the screen and POPS OUT to continue the play. After EVERY down screen, the screener should open up to the ball for the post up. READ THE SCREEN Always look to read the down screen in our 4 MAN FLEX. This time the defender, X2 plays tight to the offensive player and the cutter CURLS TIGHT to the rim. The screener must change his angle for the screen. After EVERY down screen, the screener should open up to the ball for the post up. READ THE SCREEN Always look to read the down screen in our 4 MAN FLEX. This time the defender, X2 anticipates the down screen and plays in the lane. The 2 FADE CUTS to the corner for the shot. The screener must change his angle for the screen. After EVERY down screen, the screener should open up to the ball for the post up. See More

Basketball Play - Rip

Rip

Cody Toppert 09/18/2015

While there is a plethora of calls and reads you can work off of, if you are trying to run Push / C-Game as a motion you may want to limit weak side elbow action to one or two things. In this case we will review RIP, which is a rip screen into a flex look. The 1 hits the 4 at the elbow, then the 5 sets the rip screen for the 1 who cuts to the basket and then sprints opposite to set the flex screen for the 3 in the corner. After receiving the ball at the wing the 4 hits the 5 (big to big) and then sets the down screen on the 1 to complete the flex action. The 5 can hit the 3 on the flex cut, the 1 on the pin down or go DHO with the 1 as well. If he “checks down” and nothing is open DHO with the 2 is also an option. See More
