Basketball Play - Russia (W) - Middle P/R

Russia (W) - Middle P/R

Ryan Nguyen 06/17/2017

Russia ran this middle pick-&-roll action against Belgium in their second game at FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017. The slice (shuffle screen) and screen-the-screener action is decoy to force the defense to move before getting into a middle pick-&-roll attack. As soon as 1 catches the ball from 2 up top, 5 turns around and sprint immediately into a ball-screen. As 5 rolls to the basket 2 "shakes" behind to create a single-side bump. 1 has option of passing to 5 rolling or 2 lifting behind for shot. If X5 is late recovering, 5 rolls into a post-up and receives the post feed from 2 (off of the triangle passing from 1). Another option is to have 4 "short" the pick-&-roll if X5 hard hedges. Basketball Play - SLOB Plays: Flare Punch STS

SLOB Plays: Flare Punch STS

A lot of NBA teams use the "Zipper Cut" to get the ball inbounded. It is a simple pin down, which allows the guard to sprint to the ball. This is a misdirection counter. The post slips the pin down, to receive the inbounds pass. A flare screen allows for a skip pass, which leads into a screen-the-screener action. This set allows a team to use their best shooter to cross screen for the post, before sprinting through an elevator screen. See More

Basketball Play - Loop Iverson Dayton

Loop Iverson Dayton

Evan Orzolek 06/10/2017

Ball screen set run by Stelmet Zielona Gora from the Polish Basketball League. Includes a zipper, iverson, and cross screen that flows into a double ball screen for a perimeter player. "Dayton" is a term I came up with when the first ball screen is set player "4" (who automatically pops) and then is followed by a second ball screen by player "5" (who rolls to the rim). See More

Basketball Play - Cleveland Cavaliers - SLOB EOG Need a 3

Cleveland Cavaliers - SLOB EOG Need a 3

Matt Wheeler 06/08/2017

The Cleveland Cavaliers ran this play down 3 with 12.9 seconds left in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. With no timeouts left, the Cavaliers were looking for a three point shot. This play provided two options at it, but both were defended well by the Warriors. The Cavaliers subbed out Kyle Korver on this possession but he wouldn't have been an option. They were looking for Kyrie (1) or LeBron (3) See More

Basketball Play - Golden State Warriors 25 Rip

Golden State Warriors 25 Rip

One of the most brilliant after timeout plays Kerr has run in his time with the Warriors is this back screen set they run for Draymond Green. By using Curry as a screener twice, the Warriors are able to punish teams that pay too much attention to Steph and not enough to their other scorers. See More
