Basketball Play - How Miami got Ray Allen wide open from deep in crunchtime

How Miami got Ray Allen wide open from deep in crunchtime

Mark Travis 01/31/2013

No player in NBA history has ever been more criticized for his late game play than LeBron James. Anytime he passes the ball in a close game, people begin to question whether or not he has the mental fortitude to be a winner. Thankfully, LeBron won a title last season and now all of that talk is gone. Now we can start appreciating his unselfish play in crunchtime, which is a good thing for all basketball fans. Here is a play that the Heat used down four to the Toronto Raptors in overtime last week that I call Horns Flare. Miami is going to utilize every player on the court in some way or another and the end result of the play is a wide open three for Ray Allen, which is probably the best outcome you can think of in a close game. Basketball Play - 1v2 Rebounding

1v2 Rebounding

Drew Hanlen 12/06/2013

This is a great drill to get your players to box out on defense and crash and avoid box outs on offense. Too many rebounding drills benefit the taller players and don't truly reward players for boxing out or getting around box outs, so this drill is perfect to reward pursuit effort. See More

Basketball Play - CU Clippers Flash Zone Offense

CU Clippers Flash Zone Offense

Bert DeSalvo 01/07/2016

Concorida University (NY) Women's Basketball used this zone set against Philly U on 1-5-16. The set really puts pressure on the middle of the zone and allows movement to come from the weak side where the defense really has to be aware of multiple cuts to the interior of the zone. Basketball Play - Hurdle Rebounding

Hurdle Rebounding

Bert DeSalvo 02/18/2016

This drill comes from George Hardison, Head Coach WBB at UConn Avery Point (NJCAA) which I witnessed at their practice on Feb. 16th, 2016. NOTE** If you do not have mini-hurdles you can use small cones. Also, depending on how high you want your players to jump you can use varied heights (6"/8"/12"). See More
