Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a one-on-one drill to teach reading the defense on the catch. I love using different one-on-one games to teach different aspects of play. Being able to modify the defense's starting locations changes the reads for the offensive players. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a drill to work on finishing off of a jump stop. We preach to our players about being on balance and using jump stops, so we want to show them solutions for how to create space and shots off the two foot stop. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Circle Motion is an easy offense to implement and provides opportunities to score from screening and cutting. The simplicity is what I like about the offense the most. The diagrams break down a lot of the details of how to execute the offense, and the embedded video shows what the options look like at game speed. I wrote a 30 page detailed breakdown of this offense and it is available for purchase on my sellfy: https://sellfy.com/coachhack.go/p/ten... Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we take a look at a drill to emphasize some of the smaller details of individual and team defense. This can’t replace your shell drill, as I am a firm believer that the shell drill is the best baseline teacher for team defense. But this drill is a great way to brush up on techniques used on the defensive end. We used it usually once every two weeks or so as a change up. Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the Aces' go to sets, this pinch post series begins with a rip screen to get clean catches for players ready to attack. All the action goes to the rim with limited options or need for shooting long jumpers. Use this set to isolate a player who can face up and attack from 15 feet, your best shooter setting screens and popping, and your best slashers getting to the rim off handoffs and ball screens. Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the two base offenses for the Aces is this simple baseline cross set. The spacing and the left side entry take advantage of the Aces' personnel, as their point guard (Kelsey Plum) and 5 (A'Ja Wilson) are both left handed. The set starts with both wings crossing under the rim off brush pindowns from 4 and 5, followed by a wing entry and an immediate post feed. There are several subsequent options that allow the Aces to get great looks at the basket. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn their matchup with Notre Dame, Texas A&M had to deal with a Triangle and 2 on their two best scorers, Chennedy Carter and Kayla Wells. They were ready with another excellent quick hitter to get a potential post to post high low for a layup. Using Carter and wells to create space, they were able to use well-timed pin screens and the defense against themselves to find openings to score. See More
