This play also creates a great situation to get 1 into a pick & roll action below the free-throw line. If you watch Rick Pitino and Billy Donovan enough you know they love to run baseline staggers. This is a great quick hitter that got point guard Peyton Siva some easy looks from mid-range. "ELEVATOR"
08/13/20132 takes it out with a box set. It is vital that 3 can get open without a screen or switch him and 5 to set up a screen. Once 2 inbounds to 3, 4 sets a screen for PG to get open on the ball side wing. 2 then sets up in the lane to get ready for screening action. PG dribbles toward the top of the key as 4 and 5 elevator door screen for 2 (decoy). 4 then slips to the nail for a catch and makes a read/decision. 5 drops to the lane as well. 4 can shoot it, pass to 5 on a high-low or hit 3 in the opposite corner if his man over helps. Double Swing
08/12/2013Double swing uses the same action twice in the same set play. After ball is entered to 3, 1 cuts to block and uses 4's down screen to return to original spot. 2 and 3 again swing the wings, with 2 receiving three staggered screens to get open on the right side. After screening for 2, 3 empties out on the left wing. Give it a try! See More

08/12/2013Last night I wanted to get to bed early after moving all weekend but got caught watching the 2008 NBA Finals between the Lakers-Celtics, and I couldn't turn it off! This is an action out of Phil Jackson's Triangle Offense that allows for two simultaneous scoring cuts from Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher. If the defense over helps on either screen slip 3 or 4 to the rim. See More
