Basketball Play - Scissors (double stack low)

Scissors (double stack low)

null null 08/06/2013

This is a common play in our area of Northwest Ohio that I'm sure is used in college and pro's. This play is great because it is designed to for a high post entry, and a "scissor" cut with 2 guards. You can get good looks for 3's off the scissor cut and double screen. This play also offers a chance to enter to the post player with a double screen and post entry, or the big can fake handoff to both players, and have a high post isolation. See More

Basketball Play - Transition Weak Pindown

Transition Weak Pindown

Daniel Murphy 08/05/2013

Transition play to get a quick shot off a curl from a pindown with a handoff or dribble hand off counter. If 1 throws the ball ahead to 2 and 2 can't feed 5 in the post, a trailing 4 can set a weakside pindown. If 3 is not open on the curl, then 4 steps back to the ball and plays a two man game with 1. Basketball Play - Warrior Drills: Catch-Drive-Shoot

Warrior Drills: Catch-Drive-Shoot

Tom Kelsey 08/05/2013

Have players work on being low and ready on the catch. Explode off the dribble to designated spot on the floor. Pete Maravich said use the final dribble before going up for a shot as a momentum dribble. Use it with power to go up high on the jump shot. Have players dribble low to the ground, but powerful. Use drill going right and left throughout the season will help players being tough to guard. See More
