Favorite Send to FastDrawA little bit complicated offense from Horns formation with good opportunity for quick shot 4 in the begining of the play. Main action is Pick & Roll outside 2-5 with back screen for the roller. Also if nothing happened at the end of play 1 can use HPR with 4 for missmach & 1x1 game. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA play 100% designed to isolate your more athletic or stronger 4 man on the side of the floor. Detroit utilizes #2 Juwan Howard Jr. in multiple ways but he's at his best when he can play 1 on 1 basketball. Detroit isn't a team that runs a ton of offense but they push it hard in transition and attempt to create mis-matches thru blowing the ball up the floor. After transition their best offense is finding different ways to isolate players on the floor, in this case #2 Howard. He gets the switch in the ball screen and then all of the help on the back side is guards. With his strength & quickness he can power it up over smaller defenders. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWe use a lot of ball screens in our basic offensive movement to create advantages for easy scoring opportunities. Here is a simple Box Set alignment that utilitizes downscreens and cross screens to get the defense moving before setting the ball screen at the top of the key. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis drill is all about getting shots up. Split your team into two groups at separate baskets, each side with four balls. Start with one line at the top of the key and another on the baseline. Each line has two balls. The player on the baseline starts by curling to the wing 10-15 feet from the basket. They receive a pass from the first player in the other line and proceed to take a jump shot and get their own rebound. Once a player makes the pass they curl to the wing for their own shot, receiving a pass from the next player in the opposite line. Each player gets their own rebound and returns to the opposite line from where they started. Each player gets two shots at each shooting position (left wing, top of the key, right wing) before the lines move to the next position. The drill is completed when the players shoot from each position (left wing, top of the key, right wing) two times. The teams at each basket are competing for the most makes…losing team runs. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe purpose of this drill is to practice squaring up hard on the wing; in other words, getting your shoulders turned all the way towards the basket and forcing your defender to move backwards in order to avoid committing a foul. Players pass the ball to a coach at the top of the 3-point line, take a step towards the basket, and then square-up to the basket as they receive the ball back from the coach. Once receiving the ball, they swing the ball aggressively over the tops of their shoes (low to the ground) and attack the basket along the baseline. Lines alternate driving along the baseline until the team makes 30 lay-ups, and then both lines switch to attacking middle for 30 made lay-ups. Players can switch up the type of lay-up they do to add variety to the drill. This is a drill for the whole team, not just your wing players. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set was run by Wayne Tinkle nad the Oregon State Beavers 12/18/14 near the end of a huge first half vs. Depaul. What makes this play work is that #30 Schaftenaar had the hot hand and the play had the look of a post clearout. X1 and X4 have a miscommuncation, Gary Payton II has a lob dunk, and BALLGAME!!! Favorite Send to FastDrawTeams use the triangle & two defense to shut down the offensive efficiency of two star players. The following play is designed to put one of the defending players in a disadvantage. Either a corner shot or a pass inside will be open. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Box & One defense is a very common way to shut down a star player. You can use the following play, if your point guard is the one being guarded one on one. Your big man becomes the main threat easily. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhile going thru the game I was really impressed by Michigan’s first offensive play call out of half time, it involved great spacing, driving lanes, and the ball switching sides of the floor. The action forced Detroit to put multiple guys in rotations to protect the rim, guard a handoff, defend the drive, and recover to shooters. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cyclones run this BLOB play vs 2-3 zone defenses. A typical overload play to get the ball inside. As you can see in frame 2, X5 is forced to step up to the high post to guard the ball. X4 is left on his own guarding two players (5 & 2) at the same time. One of them will be open to recieve a pass. Favorite Send to FastDrawAfter Depaul hit the 3 to put them ahead over UIC the Flames had a chance to respond for the win. With the ball out of bounds underneath the Depaul basket, UIC took a timeout and diagramed a screen the screener play with 1.8 seconds on the clock. The play got UIC a wide open three from the ball side wing for the win. With such a short clock the Depaul defenders were caught between switching and trailing their own guys. The key to this entire action is the sharp jab step taken towards the rim, and then the screen for the man cutting right to the rim. That put Depaul’s defense in catch-up mode. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Davidson Wildcats use this BLOB play against 2-3 zone defenses. The entire outcome is based on a misdirection action. The two bigs set screens to get the shooter (inbounder) open. Then the action on the other side of the court occurs. A ball screen and baseline screen to either get a shot from the short corner or a seal inside. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA historical performance on January 23rd 2015 by Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors. This is the play with which Klay Thompson raised up his points scored in the 3rd quarter to 35. Steve Kerr let the team run their bread and butter play. See More
