About This Play/Drill

Kansas Jayhawks zone lob set vs. 2-3 zone. Bill Self uses many lob plays against a zone. In this set, a double seal is set on the top layer of the zone. The point guard attacks the gap created and draws X5 to him. 

 

  • Basketball Play - Kansas Jayhawks - Double Seal Lob

  • Set begins in a traditional three-guard look with a post and short corner runner on left side

     

    1 passes to left wing (3)

  • 3 returns pass to 1

  • On the return pass to 1, 2&3 cross and set inside seals on X2 & X1 (go under the top layer of the zone)

  • 1 attacks the gap created by 2&3's seals. He gets into the lane drawing X5 to him. If X5 sinks, 1 has a pull up jumper.

     

    Meanwhile, 4 seals x4

     

    5 cuts to the rim from the short corner.

     

    1 delivers the lob pass to 5
