Basketball Play - Euro Ball Screen Shooting

Euro Ball Screen Shooting

Zachary Weir 01/09/2020

Ball Screen Shooting drill to get shooting, and passing reps using the actions in a euro ball screen continuity offense or side ball screens. Several different actions and progressions can be implemented into the drill. This is a great drill to set a time and have teams compete as well as get some conditioning. See More

Basketball Play - Virginia Cavaliers - Euro Shake + Empty Counter

Virginia Cavaliers - Euro Shake + Empty Counter

Dave Nedbalek 11/09/2018

I love this action that Virginia ran some in their first exhbition. Obviously they are traditionaly a blocker mover team (BEAUTIFUL to watch them by the way), but this is a twist on the classic European ball screen continuity offense. In the normal ball screen continuity, the loaded wing would backdoor cut through and the ball screen would be executed with the guard lifting out of the corner. In this wrinkle, the Cavaliers set the side ball screen on the top player and let the corner shake action play out. This is one of my favorite actions, and one of the hardest to guard. Another benefit is as the ball is reversed, the opposite guard now has an empty side of the floor to reject his ball screen - as you in the clip below. Basketball Play - Kentucky - Side PNR Backdoor

Kentucky - Side PNR Backdoor

Matt Wheeler 03/26/2017

Kentucky ran this play multiple times in the first half of their Elite Eight game against North Carolina to get effective looks at a backdoor layup. This play can be run as a continuity offense starting with a side ball screen. 1 dribbles off of the screen and passes to 4. 4 looks for the backdoor pass and if fhat isn't available passes to the wing to get into another side pick & roll. As 2 comes off the ball screen they pass to the other post player (5) up top. 5 goes through same reads (backdoor pass or pass and follow pick & roll). See More

Basketball Play - Notre Dame - Sides Open

Notre Dame - Sides Open

John Leonzo 03/23/2016

This a slight wrinkle out of Notre Dame's continuity offense. It is the same continuity that Virginia uses called "sides". In this version, once the ball is given on the wing to a player who they like the matchup with, the screeners space the floor to create a double gap for the ball handler to attack. See More

Basketball Play - 1-Game

1-Game

Randy Sherman 05/30/2015

Four-Out continuity offense Tips for running 1-game: Make it your secondary break. Sprint off the rebound or opponent's made FG to these spots. When the ball is reversed, you are in 1-game After you pass to the high post, WAIT until they fully reverse. THEN cut hard right off their butt. (brush screen) It is the cutter's responsibility to time this. The high post is simply going to downscreen. When reversing to the single guard side, look for the overplay and backdoor cut When you have the ball at the wing DO NOT make pass to the high post until you have check the cuttter coming off the brush screen AND the screening post rolling back to you! Basketball Play - Flex & Flare (Double Away)

Flex & Flare (Double Away)

Randy Sherman 02/26/2015

A way to get more double screens and flare screens into a flex-style continuity offense. Passes trigger actions by following these rules: Rule: Any pass from high elbow to wing triggers a double screen away! Rule: Any pass from wing to high elbow triggers a weakside flare screen! Rule: Any high elbow to high elbow pass triggers the flex & flare action! ANYTIME you set a backscreen for a flex cutter, you immediately arc wide and flare screen for the high elbow See More

Basketball Play - Fist

Fist

Randall Edens 03/08/2014

Another Quick Hit for those immersed in March Madness and want to add a little wrinkle to their playbooks for the stretch run. Great set we like that if it doesn't prove to be fruitful will take us to our continuity offense we run. See More

Basketball Play - Inside Triangle

Inside Triangle

Randy Brown 02/18/2014

This is an inside triangle set that can be run as a quick hitter or continuity offense. 3-4-5 are in a revolving screen and cut mode. 1 and 2 are available on the wings as receivers and passers into the post. Guards must move up and down sideline to occupy their defenders to allow inside scoring. See More

Basketball Play - Cutters High-Low

Cutters High-Low

Dana Beszczynski 02/05/2014

The Demon Deacons have already knocked off UNC this year and were looking to take down the mighty Orangemen last night at the Joel, but it wasn't meant to be. Wake Forest has a really good Continuity Offense they used with some effect in the 1st half to seize control of the high post area against the vaulted 2-3 Zone of Jim Boeheim. This play really does a good job of working under the zone as well and with the continuous high post action, many open shots can be found with a good passing big man. See More
