The Ohio State Buckeyes used this play to try to get a post up in the first half of their NCAA Tournament game against South Dakota State. The first option was to look for 5 in the post then 2 coming off of the down screen. Texas Tech runs this play to get the ball to their star player Jarrett Culver (3). The Red Raiders will run him off of baseline screens to get him open for a shot on either side of the floor. If he can't get open on the baseline 3 will cut up top for the pass. They will then go back to their motion principles with 4 & 5 will setting flare screens for the guards. 3 can read the play and make the pass to either cutter or screener. With the LA Clippers trailing 88-83 with 1:14 in the 4th quarter, they ran this ATO/EOG SLOB "Decoy Hammer" action against the Utah Jazz in Game 5. 2 (JJ Redick) sets a flare screen for 3 (Austin Rivers). This is decoy action as the defense has to make a decision whether to switch or not. In this case, the Jazz decide not to switch and this slight indecisveness (they switched on the 1/3 fake ball-screen action which might have caused some confusion) gave Redick space to run into a shot off of the comeback screen for 5.
