Basketball Play - SLOB France NT

SLOB France NT

Dana Beszczynski 09/28/2013

A well designed SLOB play run by French National Team Coach Vincent Collet designed to get an isolation in the paint, off a side ball screen. Here France used the low post flash to attack the basket off the ball screen and although this situation was not successful, the play itself brings a multitude of opportunities to score off a dead ball situation. Basketball Play - Hi-Lo Triple Stagger Pop

Hi-Lo Triple Stagger Pop

Al Baker 09/05/2013

The Spurs ran a set similar to this for Manu Ginobili in the 2013 NBA Finals. 3, 4, and 5 need to get out of the paint to set their screens if the first entry has any chance of being open, and 2 needs to bring his defender low enough that 3's defender has to pay attention to him--that will open up the best scoring opportunity that the action offers, which is 3 at the top of the key. Basketball Play - Hi-Lo Post Iso

Hi-Lo Post Iso

Al Baker 07/29/2013

This is adapted from a play Gregg Marshall runs at Wichita State. This action will get your 4 a couple different opportunities to catch in the paint. It's important to emphasize the reverse pivot from the post player (4) to seal his defender under the rim. Timing is critical to avoid a 3-second violation. See More

Basketball Play - Memphis Staggered Rip

Memphis Staggered Rip

Daniel Murphy 06/02/2013

Memphis ran this play at the 5:21 mark of their game three loss to the Spurs. This layup by Randolph put Memphis up by 11. The Spurs made two consecuctive defensive errors on this play. First, Randolph was doubled in the post leaving Gasol wide open at the free throw line. After Pondexter ball faked to the free throw line both Spurs guarding Randolph ran to the free throw line. Z-Bo was left unguarded on the block for the layup. Regardless of the Spurs defensive lapses, this is a good set involving screening to get the ball into the post. See More

Basketball Play - Post Rub & Iso

Post Rub & Iso

Randy Brown 05/21/2013

This is a good play for isolating your best post scorer in the low post area. 3 catches from 1 and 1 clears to weak side. On the catch, 4 rubs off 5's screen and cut to high post. This presents two options: 5 seals after screening for 4 OR ball is reversed to high post and 4 hits 5 on a post seal. 1 and 2 occupy defenders on the weak side. Give it a try! See More

Basketball Play - Post Button Hook

Post Button Hook

Randy Brown 05/20/2013

This is a high low play that starts out with a dribble out to the left wing by 1. 5 back screens for 2 as 4 gets open at the top of the key. On the catch, 4 looks quickly to 5 stepping into the lane. Immediately 4 reverses back to 1 and 5 button hooks back to the left block to catch and score. Give it a try! See More

Basketball Play - Memphis Ball Screen-Dribble Hand Off

Memphis Ball Screen-Dribble Hand Off

Daniel Murphy 05/18/2013

Memphis opening play of the fourth quarter in their game 4 win over OKC. The way Collison played the screen and rescreen by Gasol allowed Gasol to get deep post position. Arthur doesn't feed Gasol but dribble hand offs with Bayless. Sending two defenders to Bayless on the DHO was a great move because OKC gave up a 18 ft jump shot to Arthur which is a relatively low % shot. See More
