This is a great conditioning drill for pre-season and you can build it all year with different time frames and different movements.

This diagram uses 4 players at each end but it is done with all players.
On the start of the clock, the players start walking.
At the 20 second mark coach yells "JOG" and players jog for next 20 seconds
At the next 20 second mark the coach yells "RUN" and players run for 20 seconds
At the next 20 second mark the coach yells "WALK" and players walk for 20 seconds.
The pattern continues until a set time is reached.
We might start with 3-4 minutes early in the season and work up to 10 minutes.
There are so many creative ways to vary this drill
One is to add a basketball.
Have the players dribble with their weak hand or execute specific moves at different points on the floor
Another variation is to have the players make cuts as they run up the floor
Be creative with different movements (i.e. defensive slides) and you can also lengthen or shorten the time intervals for different levels of conditioning
