    - Euro/International concept

    - Often used as false motion to disguise Spread Ball Screen alignment

    - From 5-out it would begin with the ball handler(1) passing to the trailing big (5)

  • 1 is "giving to get" - he/she passes to 5 to get it back

5 takes one dribble (may not take a dribble at all) then "plates" the ball (holds it in outside hand with palm up)

1 sprints to TAKE the ball from 5. If X1 trails, use the small advantage to score or draw a secondary defender.

After ball is taken 5 breaks the defense with a roll

  • X1 may slide under 5 as 1 TAKES the ball. 1 would then possibly have no advantage after taking it...

  • 5 then TWISTS into an immediate ball screen

  • The angle from 5 should now induce X1 into going over the ball screen. 1 uses the small advantage to score or engage a secondary defender.

    Look for roll as well...

  • Referring back to Frame 1, you can see how this resulted in the spread ball screen alignment
