About This Play/Drill

Ohio State ran their version of the Weave Offense to perfection in 2010 and this end of shot clock play from the Weave is a good way to isolate either a strong post-up player or a three point specialists if the defense switches

    Craft dribble enters the ball to the wing and passes to Buford who raises from the weak side post

     

    Buford upon receiving the pass from Craft quickly makes a flip pass to Lighty and replaces him on the weak side wing

     

    Lighty centers the ball with the dribble

    Lighty dribbles in the direction of Craft who is moving to meet Lighty

     

    Lighty makes a flip pass to Craft who takes two dribbles and passes to Buford who centers the ball with the dribble

     

    Craft replaces Buford on the wing and Lighty replaces Craft

    Buford dribbles to meet Lighty who is coming off the wing and receives the flip pass

     

    Lighty dribbles the ball and makes the pass to Craft who centers the ball with the shot clock winding down

     

    Buford replaces Lighty on the wing & Lighty replaces Craft

     

    Diebler moves to fill the block

    Craft passes to Sullinger who flashes high to the ball side elbow
     

  • Ohio State Buckeys Weave Offense 2010 vs Wisconsin

     

    Diebler moves up the lane line and sets a shuffle screen for Lighty who comes hard into the lane looking to post up and receive the pass from Sullinger in the high post

     

    Diebler a very reliable shooter pops out off the screen if the defense is caught switching, he is alone for the 3

     

    Buford clears to the ball side corner for a possible shot or baseline post entry off the feed from Sullinger

     

    *At 6'5 220 Ohio State used Lighty to isolate in the post against a good match-up
