Basketball Play - Golden State Warriors - Fist Down

Golden State Warriors - Fist Down

Austin Anderson 05/14/2018

Middle Pick/Roll Action from GSW. With having interchangeable players, 1-4 could initiate the play. Durant or Green could occupy the "4" spot in this set. This action is designed to get a high slip into a weak side single with a strong side single as well. Curry and Thompson need very little room for a catch/shoot opportunity. If they don't get an open look, they will just play... Pass/Cut, Screen Away, Ball Screen, or Durant Iso. Austin Anderson 05/14/2018

Golden State plays at a fast pace and pushes the tempo. Any time Durant or Green initiates the break, watch Curry and Thompson. Those two are the best at busting out for transition 3's, early movement, and creating opportunities for others. It often doesn't look like much, but the Warriors head hunt to get Curry and Thompson open 3's. Golden State is efficient, and its offense has interchangeable parts as 1-4 can bring the ball up the court at any given time. With the firepower the Warriors possess, defenses have to sprint back and get matched up ASAP. They utilize quick opportunities with drag screens and wing pin downs. If they don't get an open look, Durant, Curry, or Thompson will back it out and just play. Basketball Play - Twice

Twice

Randy Sherman 05/11/2018

TWICE is in the rescreen family. The first screen (once) elicited the read we want - the on-ball defender went over the screen so the screener rolls. But something caused the ball handler to "bounce out" their dribble. As a result, the roller sprints back out and screens again (twice). Boston Celtics - Kickahead 3 Down

Austin Anderson 05/09/2018

Boston Celtics Catch/Shoot Set: Perimeter players can fill ANY spot. The kickahead gets the defense moving early and the quick DHO may catch it off guard. Boston utilizes the stagger away option and players like Smart, Tatum, Brown, and even Rozier can fill to the top or curl for lay ups. IF they fill to the top and dont a have a shot/drive opportunity, they will play a flash/split game with Al Horford and whoever gave them the ball. See More

Basketball Play - Boston Celtics - Double Away ATO

Boston Celtics - Double Away ATO

Austin Anderson 05/09/2018

Boston Celtics ATO set. Brad Stevens is one of the best coaches at utilizing ATOplays. This is a simple double stagger option play to get Al Horford an open 3. With the improvements of Jayson Tatum, teams have to respect him. In this play he is used as the decoy, and curls the 1-5 stagger. 1 then pops off 5 and screens for 5. 5 pops for the shot. Basketball Play - Boston Celtics - EOG Clear Lob SLOB

Boston Celtics - EOG Clear Lob SLOB

Matt Wheeler 05/07/2018

This play was #20 on the most downloaded plays of 2018! Check out the full list and download the playbook: The Top 25 Plays of 2018 The Boston Celtics were down 2 with 25.8 seconds left in regulation when Brad Stevens called a timeout, noticing his team was not likely to get a good shot attempt late in the shot clock. The Celtics used this play to combat the late game switching strategy that the 76ers were using and get a quick shot at the rim. 5 started the play by curling around the screen from 4 and to screen for 1. This occupied Philadelphia's defenders and forced the only help on the lob to come from x1 as he switched onto 5 on the screen. Jaylen Brown (2) then screened for 4 and cut to the rim. Because the 76ers were switching that screen, Brown was able to seal his new defender and cut to the basket to receive the lob pass for a quick finish.
