Favorite Send to FastDrawThe UCLA Bruins ran this play late in their final four game against Gonzaga to get Jaime Jaquez a chance to attack the basket. After 1 makes the pass to 2 and the UCLA cut, 4 (Jaquez) pops out to receive the pass from 2. 5 slips the screen on the PNR with 4. 4 then turns the corner to attack the rim. Video clip below. Favorite Send to FastDrawTexas Tech took advantage of the aggressive denial of the wing in this play to get a backdoor cut for a dunk. After 4 gets the ball off the pick and pop, 3 cuts to the wing looking to get a pass or handoff from 4. Once x3 starts to deny the pass, 3 cuts backdoor to receive the pass from 4. 5 cuts up the lane to set a fake screen to make x5 a little late on the help. Video clip below. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith Gonzaga struggling to score in the championship game against Baylor, the Bulldogs went to this ball screen set to get an open shot at the rim. The play starts out with a ghost screen from 3, 5 then follows for a PNR with 1. x3 did not want to help off of 3 because he is a shooter. This left x4 as the only player to help on 5 rolling to the basket. x4 met 5 late at the rim as 5 was able to easily get the finish. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawWatch the video below as Coach Tony Miller uses FastDraw, the #1 play diagramming program for basketball coaches, to break down this sideline set from the NBA’s Miami Heat. Great design if you have two good shooters; one can be a decoy to set up the twist and elevator screen. There is also high potential for a screener slipping to the rim if their defender shows on the shooter. Send to your FastDraw library using the button above. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a series of plays that all originate out of the same basic movement pattern. The movement pattern masks the outcome of the play to help against teams that are well prepared through scouting. The series of plays is designed to feature a dynamic soring point guard. The push zip iverson action helps create safe movement against teams that like to pressure. I like the series of plays because it allows for creativity from a dynamic player (the side ball screen), looks for cheap points (blind pig and backdoor), and gets a shooter a a good look for three in a crafty way. Favorite Send to FastDrawAny time we had a functional big man, we always have this in the playbook. The play is simple, and provides a great opportunity to isolate your big. The movement puts the defense in a tough spot because the back side help is removed, so if they front, we can throw over the top for a layup. If they play behind, we have a 1 on 1 opportunity on the block. The play gets right to the point of the set, which I like because it limits the number of ball handlers and decisions that need to be made. You can easilty hide weaker players in the 4 or the 2 spot in this play. Favorite Send to FastDrawIt's always nice to have some sets up your sleeve to get your high level shooter a look from the outside when you need it. This set can be one of those play calls. Against teams that get through screens, it should work well as long as the shooter sets a great back screen. Against teams that switch, it's important that the last screener seal their own defender to free up the shooter. Video clip below. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram/video we look at a set play to get a three pointer. It’s a hammer action, which were always fun to me as a coach to see executed. Rejecting the side ball screen usually sucks the defense in, and allows for the weak side defender to get pinned in. The embedded video shows the set in more detail.
