Basketball Play - Las Vegas Aces - Middle Ball Screen Hi-Lo SLOB

Las Vegas Aces - Middle Ball Screen Hi-Lo SLOB

Aseem Rastogi 05/06/2019

The Aces use this SLOB to get the ball to the pinch post area quickly as well as to bridge into their main sets on offense. The space created by the BLOB allows star player A'Ja Wilson to face up and get to the rim. Other options are to make a high-low pass, or hit a slasher come off a triple stagger screen along the baseline. Basketball Play - Las Vegas Aces - Circle Double Stack BLOB

Las Vegas Aces - Circle Double Stack BLOB

Aseem Rastogi 05/06/2019

The Aces use this BLOB to get an open layup or short jumper. Because Kayla McBride commands so much attention, the first option (Lindsay Allen or Kelsey Plum) is usually the one getting the majority of the looks. This is because the help defense is consumed with making sure McBride doesn't get a layup, and they often leave the 1 open under the basket. Stagger Shooting (Phase A)

Randy Sherman 05/02/2019

This Phase A Stagger Shooting drill can serve as a breakdown drill for Motion Strong. In Phase A drills the focus is on introduction and examination of technique. In this drill we are working on techniques such as setting up the screen, the footwork into the catch and shooting mechanics. There is a Dr Dish option in the catch-and-shoot phase of this drill as well. The goal is to progress to other phases of drilling which offer decisions for the offensive player as soon as possible. Basketball Play - Denver Nuggets - Corner OOB Elevator

Denver Nuggets - Corner OOB Elevator

Matt Wheeler 04/29/2019

Inbounding the ball from the corner can be a difficult situation. The Nuggets started this play with good spacing to make sure they got the ball in. Once 1 got the pass they ran a decoy action with 3 cutting across screens from 5 and 4 to shift the defense. 1 then dribbled back to the original side to pass the ball to 2, cutting through the elevator screen for a shot. Basketball Play - Houston Rockets - Stagger Slip SLOB

Houston Rockets - Stagger Slip SLOB

Matt Wheeler 04/29/2019

The Houston Rockets were down 5 with 24.4 seconds left in game 1 against the Golden State Warriors. They needed at least two scores to tie the game so they needed to get a quick basket and then foul to extend the game. This play worked very well against the Warriors strategy of switching all screens. James Harden (2) started the play as a decoy, setting the second screen for Eric Gordon (3). The Warriors switched off of Harden on the screen to take away an open three from Gordon. Harden then flashed to the ball to receive the pass from 5 and quickly attack the basket.
