Favorite Send to FastDrawRick Pitino believes in ball movement and spacing. His Lousiville Cardinal offense will change based on the available talent. If it's a good passing team then they will have more motion. He thinks that an effective coach will be prepared both offensively and defensively. Coach Rick Pitino thinks that you should improve your players and help them reach their potential. The big thing is that you have to understand how to win and lose..... plus understand team chemistry. Favorite Send to FastDrawYesterday I shared Part 1 of Ballscreen Shooting which incorporated three different types of screening actions. The technique the throw-behind in Frame 1, is essentially a quick evade dribble. You are trying to throw the ball out in front of you, in an effort to create separation from the hedging defender, while also making it difficult for the initial defender to recover in time before the quick release jumper. Do not allow your players to just go through the motions, set a goal to reach during each set. Example: You MUST go 7-for-10 before moving to the next sequence. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set of pick & roll shooting drills is one of my favorites for player development. There are 189 total moves below to work on different pick & roll coverages and methods of attack at the three most popular angles. In order to keep your workouts efficient and energetic, take just one action and focus on 3-4 moves within that action from all three angles. Do not allow your players to just go through the motions, set a goal to reach during each set. Example: You MUST make 7-10 before moving to the next sequence. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan ran this triangle set often during NCAA Tournament, particularly early in games. The motion creates a lot of movement, and ends with the ball in your best player's hands. The ball screen typically involved Stauskas (2) and Morgan (5). Because of the attention Stauskas gets, it often resulted in an open lane for Morgan to slip, because of the spacing it is difficult for the defense to leave good shooters. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawViriginia ran this quick hitter in the ACC Championship game against Duke on Sunday. Virginia runs this set looking to get one of their guards a backdoor cut at the basket. UVA does a great job in their motion offense staying patient and looking for great shot on each possession. Their patience and hard cuts will leave the defense suseptible to backdoor cuts. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a diagram of a play that Colorado ran as a set play against Harvard in their game on November 24. The play can result in a three-point shot or a post feed. The play also helps Colorado transition into their half court motion offense if they do not score off of the set play. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Florida Gators are playing shorthanded right now, but once their line-up is complete, they will be a very exciting team to watch. Head Coach Billy Donovan has a wealth of experience and the way he runs his half court sets demonstrates this. Here is "America's play", a simple Horns action with a STS action at the end setting up either post entry or a possible jump shot. From here, the Gators go right into their Ball Screen Motion which they do a great job of executing. This play was taken from the Gators game against the Wisconsin Badgers during ESPN's 24 hour marathon. See More
