Favorite Send to FastDrawWe think of "Second Cutting" as what we do when the ball has been driven and stopped. Our "First Cut" is our spacing on the drive, and then our "Second Cut" is our reaction if that drive is stopped. These are not predetermined cuts but ones made based on the decisions our own defender makes. These are two ways we drill this scenario in a Short-Sided Game setting. See video below for drill demonstration. From the FMS Blog: Program Spotlight - Leicester Wolverines Skill Building for Dribble Drive Motion Offense Keys to Designing a DDM Practice Plan See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawLearning to defend a screen away from the ball is a key packline principle. Here we drill against a wide pin down. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWe love to set flare screens in our motion offense because they are so hard to guard. This shell drill is designed to defend such an action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOur shell series is designed to drill all of our packline defensive principles. Here we are defending the ball screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWe are a packline team, but this drill (and many others) can be adapted to work with any defensive system. 2-on-2 Gap Help is great drill emphasizing our talk system and basic ball-you-man and ball-you-basket positioning. Favorite Send to FastDrawCovering down on the post (aka doubling down) can lead to silly fouls if not drilled properly. We like to emphasize digging up, all the while not losing sight of our own man. Easier said than done. Click here for more plays and drills from Coach Hueser! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCreighton Blockout is a great toughness drill we got from Coach Dana Altman. We typically breakdown according to position: guards vs guards and forwards vs forwards. Click here for more plays and drills from Coach Hueser! See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw3-on-3 Flow (aka Flow Ball) is another one of our team favorites. Credit goes to @John_Leonzo for this fastbreak conditioner. We love it for a variety of reasons, but mostly for its emphasis on defensive transition and uptempo offense. We have adapted the following scoring rules: 1) Play to 15 using 2's and 3's. 2) Player who scores game winner must validate with a made freet hrow. 3) Should the player miss, team score returns to 11 and play resumes. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Celtics possess one of the most skilled and interchangeable rosters of the NBA. This post provides several variations of Boston's Push Action. This early offense is designed to create a 2 man game on either side of the court. Rozier, Smart, Brown or Tatum can occupy any perimeter spot. Horford, Morris, Tatum, Baynes or Monroe can play the 4/5 spots. This action creates pick/roll, pick/pop, and drive/kick opportunities. Favorite Send to FastDrawSwing Cross is an option upon the swing or centering pass to the center trailer in Early Offense. On passes to the center trailer the offense executes "dual actions" in this case cutting to opposite corner from the high wing. The ball movement and dual actions move players prior to the pentration moment (spread ball screen).
