Basketball Play - Colorado Horns Roll/Replace Weakside DHO

Colorado Horns Roll/Replace Weakside DHO

Wes Kosel 01/08/2016

This play was used by Tad Boyle in the win over Stanford. The play starts with the point guard dribbling right off of the horns ball-screen. 4 rolls and 5 replaces 4. If nothing is there on the initial ball-screen. 1 passes to 5 (Josh Scott). Scott then dribbles towards the left corner and looks to give the ball to 3 on a dribble hand-off. See More

Basketball Play - EWU DHO Weave

EWU DHO Weave

Wes Kosel 10/29/2015

1 dribbles off of a high ball-screen from 5 and gives the ball to 2 on a dribble hand-off. 2 then dribbles left giving 3 the ball on a dribble hand-off. 2 and 5 shape up, and 3 dribbles right giving 4 the ball on a dribble hand-off. This play can keep going to lull the defense to sleep, but at some point a player needs to attack the rim off of the hand-off option. See More

Basketball Play - Floppy DHO

Floppy DHO

Cody Toppert 09/04/2015

A DHO entry to Floppy will most likely be on the wing Guard to Guard. This means the point guard would speed dribble pitch the ball to the corner wing coming up. The wing will now become the point of initiation and the point guard will be come the activated player. This look most likely proceeds to be a back screening action by the strong side big. The popular version employed by the San Antonio Spurs involves a guard-to-guard DHO and a triple staggered baseline screen for Tony Parker who sprints the base line to find the scoring option on the weak side. Important to not the weak side wing must be the second screener I order to prevent a switch on the final screen, thus negating any type of advantage or open shot. Once the defense gets use to the triple baseline screen, Tony Parker will often times enter and exit the same side, thus showing us a DHO into a traditional Floppy Look. See More

Basketball Play - Harvard DHO Iso

Harvard DHO Iso

Brandon Mullis 08/23/2015

Here is a set play ran by Tommy Amaker at Harvard. A slashing wing/guard would be ideal in the "3" spot in this diagram, with your best shooter as your "2" to force the defense to make a choice to take away the drive (and leave an open shot for 2 in the corner) or put a lot of pressure on 3's defender to keep him from getting to the rim in isolation after coming off the ball screen from 4.
