Basketball Play - Texas Tech Red Raiders - Iverson Point Ricky

Texas Tech Red Raiders - Iverson Point Ricky

Dave Nedbalek 04/08/2019

This is another simple set that has high volume results. Depending on how the defense plays back-screens you can save this wrinkle for a key moment to get a great shooter a shot. If the defender is jumping to the ball and getting through the backscreen first the cutter can simply cut back out on the weak side for a wide open fade. The big can read the catch and go right into a step up screen if there is no advantage on the catch as well. A great wrinkle would be to slip your 5 man on the down-screen if there is switching or miscommunication. Blog Post: Texas Tech Defense Puts Opponents on Red Alert See More

Basketball Play - Texas Tech Red Raiders - Hot Action

Texas Tech Red Raiders - Hot Action

This is an extremely difficult action to make x5 guard but is incredibly simple to run. We call this "Hot Action" which is a back screen off-ball, followed immediately by an on-ball screen. If the big tags the cutter on the back-screen as he should, unless they are switching, this puts him late to his ball screen coverage. Simple, yet effective. ATO set from Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo. Play starts with a 21 DHO on the wing and a Pin Down on the weak side. As the ball is reversed, the PG clears the corner and the wing receives a chin screen for the lob. Diagram is for the traditional set up with a SG receiving the DHO, Michigan State ran this with a taller athlete on the end of a lob. Blog Post: Michigan State's Championship Identity See More

Basketball Play - Virginia Cavaliers - EOG STS SLOB

Virginia Cavaliers - EOG STS SLOB

Virginia ran this play to get them into the championship game, drawing a foul on the three-point shot and giving them three free throws to take the lead . Kyle Guy (3) made a three-pointer on the previous possession to bring the deficit to 1. After Auburn hit a free throw to get their lead to 2, Virginia was able to get the ball into the front court and call a timeout with 1.5 seconds left. The initial option on this play was a lob to the rim for Mamadi Diakite. The secondary option for the lead went back to Guy cutting to the corner off the screen from 5. Basketball Play - Auburn Tigers - DHO Shuffle Swing

Auburn Tigers - DHO Shuffle Swing

Diccon Lloyd-Smeath 04/06/2019

More quality execution from the #1 ranked Half Court offense in the 2019 NCAA Final Four. Play starts with the PG entering a DHO with the shooter on the wing. As the shooter and trailer exchange pass reversals, the PG receives a shuffle screen from the post player and the opposite wing swaps sides. On the 2nd reversal, the trailer completes the reversal and hits the PG on the opposite wing, then slips the pick and pop. As the PG drives the shooters cuts the lane, then leaks out to the corner for 3! See More
