Favorite Send to FastDrawNormally Curry brings the ball up the floor, but in this set the player they want to try and free up for a layup (often the 3 man such as Barnes or Iguadola) will bring the ball up. The player bringing the ball up will pass to trailing big man and receives a backscreen from Curry, looking to get a layup off the screen is the first option. If the man is covered on the backscreen, Curry then receives a dribble hand off from the big who then rolls to the rim. The second option is great because Curry's man has to help or at least show to prevent a layup, allowing Curry to come off the dribble handoff typically unimpeded. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAt the beginning of every game Kerr likes to run Klay off a pindown screen to get him going, and that is exactly what he ran in Game 2. Out of their "Zipper" Series, they run a fake dribble handoff for Steph and Klay sneaks out of a screen from Bogut to get an easy look. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the most lethal actions the Warriors run is having Steph & Klay twirl on the wing. Usually Steph cuts to set a down screen for Klay, looking for a quick shot, in this set they "Twirl" or Klay cuts off of the screen and curls back inside setting another quick screen for Steph. Out of this action, the first guard receives a dribble handoff and the other cuts through off a double screen, looking for a shot. Kerr also runs a counter out of this where instead of cutting off double screen Klay is involved in the double screen and "Leaks" or slips out early to get a shot. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawKlay Thompson and Steph Curry running a Pick & Roll together seems unfair. But it is precisely what Steve Kerr loves to do in this creative set out of a zipper cut. This set can have Klay come off looking for a shot off the pindown, setting a ballscreen or slipping the ballscreen for a 3 and Curry attacks out of all of it. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGolden State Warriors run alot of their sets in the flow of their offense based on reads. They run double stagger, one down and flex actions out of their base offense that end up in Horns. This set is a wrinkle out of the base motion that is designed to get Draymond Green cutting to the rim for a layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawI am sure I have posted this play in the past but it is one of my favorites so I wanted to post it again! The Golden State Warriors went to this action in the 1st Half of Game 4 versus the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. This elbow set into a flex action is very popular in the NBA; Stan Van Gundy ran it religiously in Orlando. While us coaches are all very familiar with the Flex, I have learned recently that many young players today are not familiar with how to run the play NOR guard it. In my opinion, if you have two great scorers on the floor, this is a very difficult action to guard. The defense has to respect the flex cut give up a lay-up. Then by pinning down on the screener, the defense must make a decision how to guard and if they over-react the big will be open slipping to the rim. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Houston Rockets were down 5 with 24.4 seconds left in game 1 against the Golden State Warriors. They needed at least two scores to tie the game so they needed to get a quick basket and then foul to extend the game. This play worked very well against the Warriors strategy of switching all screens. James Harden (2) started the play as a decoy, setting the second screen for Eric Gordon (3). The Warriors switched off of Harden on the screen to take away an open three from Gordon. Harden then flashed to the ball to receive the pass from 5 and quickly attack the basket. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe LA Lakers opened their game against the Golden State Warriors with this lob play for Larry Nance Jr. (4). 5 sets a down screen for 4 who sprints into a ball screen with 1. 5 turns around and sets a second screen for 1. 1 then throws the lob pass to 4 at the rim. 3 and 2 exchange on the weak side to occupy their defenders.
