Basketball Play - UMBC - Middle STS

UMBC - Middle STS

Kevin Bruinsma 03/28/2018

This is a set UMBC ran against Virginia in their upset victory in the NCAA Tournament. I love the action because the guard that screens for the big to set a ball screen then comes off a 5 man screen to the corner. His man should be in the hole to defend the pick and roll, and when he recovers he has to ellude a screen. NCAA Tournament: XsOs Behind the Upsets See More

Basketball Play - Loyola Chicago - Punch Hammer

Loyola Chicago - Punch Hammer

Doug Brotherton 03/15/2018

Loyola Chicago ran the best set play of the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. This "Punch Hammer" set resulted in a wide open 3, to tie the game, late in the second half. The post entry sucks in the help defense, before the baseline skip pass (HAMMER ACTION) led to the important 3pt shot. The Ramblers of Loyola Chicago went on to upset Miami, on a buzzer beater, and beat Nevada and Kansas State en route to the Final Four. Basketball Play - Ohio State - PNR STS

Ohio State - PNR STS

Matt Wheeler 03/15/2018

The Ohio State Buckeyes used this play to try to get a post up in the first half of their NCAA Tournament game against South Dakota State. The first option was to look for 5 in the post then 2 coming off of the down screen. In this play 1's defender played off of 1 to take the pass into the post away. 1 made him pay by hitting the open three point shot. See More
