Basketball Play - Miami Box Lob

Miami Box Lob

Al Baker 08/28/2013

This is based on a lob play the Miami Heat run for Dwyane Wade. We added onto it when teams started taking away the lob late in the season. The secondary actions are excellent in late-game situations. It's critical that you teach 3 to cut hard off the initial screen, as most teams will deny the inbound to him and set up the back screen nicely. See More

Basketball Play - 04 Nets Lob

04 Nets Lob

Adam Spinella 08/19/2013

Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins connected on a fantastic alley oop in a 2004 game to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. The play, designed to get Richard Jefferson free at the rim, works well because of the amount of attention paid to Jason Kidd as their star player. His ability to serve as a decoy away from the basket was instrumental in freeing up space at the basket and getting Jefferson's man away from him. See More

Basketball Play - Hi-Lo Post Iso

Hi-Lo Post Iso

Al Baker 07/29/2013

This is adapted from a play Gregg Marshall runs at Wichita State. This action will get your 4 a couple different opportunities to catch in the paint. It's important to emphasize the reverse pivot from the post player (4) to seal his defender under the rim. Timing is critical to avoid a 3-second violation. See More

Basketball Play - Spurs SLOB High Post Follow

Spurs SLOB High Post Follow

Kevin Bruinsma 07/05/2013

My favorite San Antonio Spurs SLOB and the one that the Miami Heat had the most difficulty defending in the NBA Finals. #9 Tony Parker did a great job of curling right around #21 Tim Duncan after passing him the ball for lay-ups. Duncan's defender was scared to help too much to give up an elbow jumper or drive, it led to two #9 Tony Parker lay-ups. See More

To best enjoy and learn from these play diagrams I recommend that you watch the video which is linked below as all of the diagrams are listed in order with the video clips. See More
