Boston Celtics "Zipper Horns Chicago"
02/12/2016The Celtics run this set to get Isaiah Thomas a shot going to his left hand. Isaiah Thomas brings the ball up and passes to 2 who zipper cuts lane line extended, then receives the pass and hits the elbow man opposite him. He then cuts over top as the opposite big screens away for Isaiah Thomas going to his left (helpful because he is left handed), and the big with the ball hands off to Isaiah Thomas for a quick shot. Boston Celtics "Zipper Short Hand Off"
02/12/2016The only reason this isn't my number one set is because it is not as effective as the number one set, and it is not run as often. This is a great variation off of the "Fist Up Short" set the Phoenix Suns and Steve Nash ran against teams that hard hedge. Instead of looking for the big on the roll, the "Short" man receives the pass and then hands it off to a guard. The best part is the guards are going to their strong hand attacking the rim, Isaiah Thomas to his left & Marcus Smart to his right. See More

02/09/2016This was another great set to get an open three pointer. Having Marcus Smart pass to the elbow and do a fake handoff with Amir Johnson distracted the defense from the off ball screen Isaiah Thomas was being run through. This allowed Amir Johnson to make an easy decision by hitting Thomas for the open three. This would be a great set to run before ending a quarter or half. See More

Oklahoma City Thunder - BS Flex Zipper
02/09/2016This was a nice set coming out of a timeout for the Thunder to get Kevin Durant an open three pointer. While it was not the first option (Ibaka going across the flex screen for an open layup was), they ran the progression and Durant got the look he wanted. This set was also made better because of the solid screen Steven Adams set. See More

Chicago Bulls "Zipper Backdoor"
02/04/2016This is exactly like the action the San Antonio Spurs run. Because the Chicago Bulls like to post up Pau Gasol and he is an excellent passer, this set works well. Typically designed after a time out, Butler cuts off Gasol who receives the pass in the post. Giving Butler time to clear the cut is key, so the timing of the lob/backdoor cut can be perfect. UVA Box Zipper Fence
12/26/2015These are a pair of plays the UVA Cavaliers ran against Cal on 12/22/2015. What makes this set so great is that they were both run out of time outs with a minute or less left in OT and had progreession. 10/29/20151 dribbles right as 2 sets a screen for 3 in the lane. 3 cuts to the wing, then 2 sets a back-screen for 5. If 5 isn't open he cuts to the corner and 2 cuts to the top of the key. 1 dribbles left and passes to 2. Once 2 has the ball, he has the middle of the floor to work and get to the rim. 1, 3, 5, and 4 all space out on the perimeter for a kick out pass. See More
