Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Houston Rockets were down 5 with 24.4 seconds left in game 1 against the Golden State Warriors. They needed at least two scores to tie the game so they needed to get a quick basket and then foul to extend the game. This play worked very well against the Warriors strategy of switching all screens. James Harden (2) started the play as a decoy, setting the second screen for Eric Gordon (3). The Warriors switched off of Harden on the screen to take away an open three from Gordon. Harden then flashed to the ball to receive the pass from 5 and quickly attack the basket. Favorite Send to FastDrawIf the defense is switching on ball screens, then you can get a lob for your high-flyer like Duke does here for Zion Williamson. Watch the first play in the video below! More Blue Devils: Duke Horns Elbow Series See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawA staple of the Toronto Raptors' short-clock out of bounds playbook in 2018-19, "Head Tap" BLOB has been extremely effective for team that finished with the 2nd best record in the NBA. Nick Nurse has leveraged the cardinal rule of out of bounds defense - no layups on an inbounds pass - to the offense's advantage by stretching help defense from the rim to the 3-point line. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawTexas Tech opened their Final Four game against Michigan State with this variation of their box set to get a lob dunk. 2 fakes the cross screen for 3 then cuts over 4 to the wing. This is a common action that they run in their "Box PNR" play. 3 then sets a back screen for 4. 1 passes to 4 at the rim for the lob dunk. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is another simple set that has high volume results. Depending on how the defense plays back-screens you can save this wrinkle for a key moment to get a great shooter a shot. If the defender is jumping to the ball and getting through the backscreen first the cutter can simply cut back out on the weak side for a wide open fade. The big can read the catch and go right into a step up screen if there is no advantage on the catch as well. A great wrinkle would be to slip your 5 man on the down-screen if there is switching or miscommunication. Blog Post: Texas Tech Defense Puts Opponents on Red Alert See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is an extremely difficult action to make x5 guard but is incredibly simple to run. We call this "Hot Action" which is a back screen off-ball, followed immediately by an on-ball screen. If the big tags the cutter on the back-screen as he should, unless they are switching, this puts him late to his ball screen coverage. Simple, yet effective. Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan State ran this set with multiple actions to either get a layup off of the back screen or a three off of the down screen. Screening before receiving a screen occupies the defender and hopefully frees up the shooter more. See More
