With 37.2 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter with the score tied at 102, Brad Stevens ran this EOG Lift Pick & Roll action (4 or 5 man at the wing as opposed to the corner) against the New Orleans Pelicans. What makes this simple play work effectively is that Brad Stevens designed this action to get Isaiah Thomas attacking with his strong hand downhill.

2 cuts to corner. 3 cuts to opposite corner right after 2. 5 inbounds to 1 in the backcourt.

5 makes an Iverson cut to wing. 4 sprints to top and sets a lift pick & roll with 1. 1 attacks off screen to basket.
