About Lisa Stockton

 In 20 seasons at the helm of the Tulane women’s basketball program, Lisa Stockton is the dean of Green Wave coaches. Her career record of 479-231 as a collegiate head coach is good for a 67.5 winning percentage and she is 416-204 (.671) during her time at Tulane, including a 190-115 mark in conference play.
 
During her tenure with the Green Wave, Stockton has led her team to the postseason 15 times (10 NCAAs, 5 WNITs) and claimed Conference Coach of the Year honors three times (Metro in 1995, C-USA in 2007 and 2010). In addition, Tulane has won C-USA regular season crown four times and the tournament title on five occasions. With 416 wins with the Green Wave, Stockton now has more than twice as many wins as each of the previous Tulane coaches earned in 19 combined years.
 
Stockton has guided Tulane to 20-plus win seasons 13 times, including a school-record 27 wins in 1996-97 and 1999-2000. Her student-athletes have earned all-conference honors a combined 46 times, including 12 first-teamers. She also has one C-USA Player of the Year, three C-USA Freshman, Defensive and Sixth Player of the Year, and one C-USA Newcomer of the Year honorees under her watch, and five former Tulane players have gone on to play in the WNBA.
 
Prior to coming to Tulane for the 1994-95 season, Stockton served as an assistant coach at Georgia Tech from 1990-94, head coach at Greensboro College from 1987-90 and as the volunteer assistant at North Carolina in 1986-87.
 
Stockton graduated from Wake Forest in 1986 and was a four-year letterwinner for the Demon Deacons where she set school records in points, assists and steals. She earned her master’s from North Carolina in 1987.
