Favorite Send to FastDraw3 (Gordon Hayward) is denied the ball, so 5 pops out for an elbow catch from 1. 2 (Rodney Hood) setting backscreen for 4 forces X2 to help on the backcut allowing 2 to sprint into a DHO with 5 for an open shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe initial rub screen from 1 is decoy action to allow him a step ahead of his defender as he sprints into the DHO with 5. Because X1 has to help on the curl from 3 to the basket this allows 1 to get a step ahead of his defender. 4 screens in for 3 to occupy help on the roll. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHorns action from the Utah Jazz. 3 (Gordon Hayward) sets an elbow ball-screen for 1 then rolls to the front of the basket. 5 & 3 then execute a dribble handoff. The purpose of this action is to allow Gordon Hayward to get a step ahead of his defender when he explodes into the DHO as his defender is trailing behind. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Utah Jazz ran this ATO play against San Antonio down 2 with just under 3 minutes to play. This play can be used to free up a shooter for a 3pt shot, but the more likely option will be the 2 man on the slip, which in this case was Rodney Hood for a wide open dunk. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSet designed to get a shot off a dribble hand off. I like the action of faking a backscreen to freeze the defense before coming off the shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the left wing as 4 sets a back-screen for 3 at the top of the key. If 3 isn't open on the cut, he moves out to the corner and 4 sets a ball-screen for 1 on the wing. As 1 drives middle, 4 rolls to the basket and 2 cuts off of a down-screen from 5. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this flex option, the Jazz get into the play with a dribble entry and a back-screen for 4 at the top of the key (just as in "Flex Stagger"). Instead of 4 setting the flex-screen, 2 cuts to the wing off of the staggered down-screen from 5 and 3. Once 2 has cleared, 5 sets a flare-screen for 3 who cuts to the corner for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this flex option from the Utah Jazz, 1 dribbles up the floor as 3 sets a back-screen at the top of the key for 4 trailing the play. 4 cuts down to the block lookin for the pass from 1. If neither 3 or 4 are open, 4 sets a flex-screen for 5 and then cuts off of a staggered down-screen from 2 and 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is our entry into the little-big back screen that the Utah Jazz used with John Stockton and Karl Malone back in the day. You may be able to get the ball to the 2 on the first basket cut, but more often than not the x5 defender will be sagging on the back screen, leaving 5 open to catch on the wing. If your 5 isn't a shooter, you may want to change up personnel to avoid allowing that defender to play off the ball and take away the entry to 4. See More
