Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a set play to create a driving lane, but there are plenty of options before the driving lane. You can score on the back screen, the stagger screen, or even the second stagger screen. Many options, but if none of those hit, you have the clear out to explore. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a series of plays from the push zip Iverson movement series. The featured action in the video is the blind pig backdoor. This is a clever action, and with good timing it can be very tough to defend. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a SLOB to get into the flex offense. The flex offense has stood the test of time. Every year I've been a head coach we've had a BLOB, SLOB or set play option for the flex offense. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a counter that we use for our BLOB Slice action. Teams load up to help on the double staggered and we set a diagonal screen for the screener. Video clip below. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a little misdirection stagger action. I like how the flow of the actions goes one way, and then the shooter comes open behind the play. I think this could be very effective in a package of plays that all started from the gate alignment. Video clip below. Favorite Send to FastDrawOut of our 5 Out alignment we used a set to to bring our 1 off of a double stagger screen. We reverse the ball to our 4, dribble hand off to the 2, and stagger screen on the back side. Developing slipping options out of the stagger would make this set even tougher to guard. Favorite Send to FastDrawWe used a box set with the same initial action to start each play, and then used a numbering system to decide which option we would use. The series sets up multiple back doors, a rejected ball screen to an empty baseline and a stagger screen. I've had this installed every year I've been a head coach, and it works like a charm. Using the same movement pattern for each play allows you to install one play with five different options. Video clip below. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a set play out of a horns alignment we use with multiple options. First, we use the alignment to let a playmaker attack and read the defense with the horns ball screen, roll/pop action. We want to play off the ball handler, and if we can't create a shot off the initial attack, look to play 4 around 1 with our big to get it inside. Then we look at a couple simple set options that play off of the base action. Video clip below. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a long form play with multiple options from a Princeton alignment and a floppy action to feature a dynamic player. If the player can drive, shoot, post up, finish off the cuts or use a ball screen there are options to do so. We used the play to feature a shooter, but a post up player or a driver could also be used, just different options would need to be emphasized. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis offense was implemented to help incorporate constant screening and cutting into a continuity offense. There are options to score on cuts, post ups, down screening and slips. We've found wrinkles and set plays from within the base offense that have been effective. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play that evolves directly from the Euro Ball Screen Offense, designed to get a shooter a look coming off screening action. I love masking actions out of your base man offense. It really throws defenses off the scent of the action, and makes it harder for opponents to gain an advantage through scouting.
