Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the Hornets favorite sets in the half court can be just as effective as a SLOB. The Hornets set it up by making Batum’s defender fight through false action zipper screens, and then come right back and make him fight through stagger screens. Batum scores here but the play has many options. Your point guard can take it to the rim right away off the ballscreens. If you have a big man who can shoot, have him pop after the stagger screen because if his man switches or overhelps, he could be wide open for a three-pointer. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis action is a wrinkle on the popular NBA Hammer action by flooding the strong side with movement and screens. Most zipper actions are run to swing the ball across sides of the floor, so help defense will particularly fall into the trap after the zipper screen when the action returns to that strong side. That allows the hammer to be run to perfection. And with sharpshooter Danilo Gallinari as a screener, there's little opportunity to give help away from him. The Sixers help off Will Barton in the corner instead, and that allows Gallinari to get to the rim for the dunk! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCarolina used this play to get an open shot off of a triple staggered screen. The initial zipper action is also nice to get a quick shot or iso. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is my favorite Brad Stevens set that he runs at the end of games when his team needs a 3 point shot and it almost always results in an open look for Avery Bradley. Beginning with the player you want to receive the flare screen, he zipper cuts to the top of the key as a decoy. After the zipper cut, a guard on the weakside block sets a backscreen for a big (3-4 man) to cut toward the rim on the opposite side of the key and receive a pass. After the big catches the pass, the other big man sets a flare screen for the initial guard to get an open look from 3. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is the very common horns flex action that most teams run. Romelo Trimble runs through the two high post bigs and for the flex cut and returns to the top for a dribble handoff. The flex cutter then uses and staggered screen on a zipper cut to catch and shoot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the left side giving the ball to 2 on a dribble hand-off. 4 and 5 move to the right elbow and set up a wall with a double-screen. 2 looks to pass to 3 cutting off of the double-screen for a shot. In the second option, 1 passes to 2 off of a zipper cut to start the play. 2 quickly passes off to 4 while 1, 5, and 3 form a wall. At the same time, 3 cuts up for a shot and 1 cuts to the basket. If neither option is there, 2 loops back around 4 for a hand-off while 1 cuts off of a staggered down-screen from 5 and 3. In option 3, 2 screens for 4 instead of cutting to the corner (off of option 2). 4 looks to drive to the basket as 1 cuts to the rim. Option 4: 2 cuts around 4 to the corner and 5 now sets the ball-screen for 4 sprinting out of the wall. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach of the Year Mike Budenholzer is one of the best, if not the best, coach in after timeout and special situations to get players great shot opportunities. To start game 5 against the Brooklyn Nets he gets alot of movement before getting Kyle Korver an open look from 3. They run the normal "Zipper" cut into a double screen to get some action before the initial set. Their big pops to the wing, and Budenholzer has Korver set a UCLA screen before coming off a flare screen for an open look from 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSide elevator to get a 3 point look. Play begins with a zipper looking like the Spurs "loop." After intitial zipper, the Iverson cut fakes a set up for a side ball screen, while the shooter goes through the side elevator. Lots of misdirection in this set. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere's a set we have gotten a lot of mileage out of and run for different players, from different positions where we feel we have advantages and on both sides of the floor. Furthermore, it can get 3 great looks at any point in the game based on what you are looking for with regards to situation and score. Can also adapt slightly and run as a Zipper Set SLOB and net the same looks. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis Set Play run by Murray State from a SLOB situation is really well designed. The Racers use three sets of double staggered screens to get themselves into a position for the best shot in the offense. The timing and execution of this play was great to watch and Payne does a good job getting his post man a touch inside after a perfect read of the defense, using the zipper cut up the lane to take advantage of the defense cheating over the top. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this play in the 2012 playoffs to get a lob for Dwyane Wade. The lob action has also been successful for us, but once teams have the play scouted, we've been able to take advantage by inbounding to the screener and setting up a handoff or a down screen option. It is critical that 3 sells the initial zipper cut, as most teams will deny this pass and this will force the defender into a position where he's easier to screen coming back to the basket. See More
