Favorite Send to FastDrawThis action is a nice misdirection out of Horns for a point guard coming off a screen. The curl of the stagger screen should take away help for Dragic to come off the down screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play ended up with an open shot on the wing off of the flare-screen. This is a great way to move out of staggered screens and forces the defense to pick who to guard (3 on the initial cut or 5 on the flare). See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 turned down the screen and drove baseline, but was still able to find 2 on the wing for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 cuts to the ball side block and 3 cuts off of a staggered screen to the opposite corners. If the defenders help on the cuts 4 or 5 may have an open shot at the elbow. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 passes to 4 at the high post. 1 and 5 then set a staggered screen for 2 in the corner. 4 follows behind the screen and gives the ball to 2 on a dribble hand-off. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 passes to 4 at the high post then sets a staggered down screen with 5 for 2. If 2 isn't open for a shot he cuts through the lane. 1 screens down for 5 who pops out for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBobby Hurley rof Arizona State ran this Shuffle / DBL Stagger Action in their game against UCLA. A play with lots of movement, post-up option and PNR possibilities. The Sun Devils have quick guards who can drive & kick reading the defenses to set-up the best scoring options. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of my favorite actions is "Spain" action, which is my term for a backscreen for the player who just set a ballscreen. Randy Wittman has run about 6 different variations out of this concept, but we will look at the main one I think alot of teams could employ. Nearly every college team runs "Slice Stagger" action into a high ballscreen, and to add this wrinkle would be very effective as it has been for the Wizards this year. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw2 cuts off of a staggered screen from 5 and 4. 1 passes to 2 then cuts around the ball to the corner. 4 and 5 then set a second staggerd screen, this time for 3 in the corner. In the game, 4 slipped on the second screen and got a lay-up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw2 cuts off of a staggered screen from 3 and 5 while 4 moves down. 3 then uses the down-screen from 4. 1 can either pass to 2 who swings it to 5. If neither wing is open, 2 cuts off of a staggered screen on the left side. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe inbounder is the most forgettable player in baseline and sideline out of bounds plays. In this set, Notre Dame took advantage of North Carolina by playing small. Knowing that a big man (Isaiah Hicks) was guarding the inbounder, they decided to run a play for the inbounder (Steve Vasturia) off of a stagger screen. This allowed him to get a wide open look. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is an excellent play designed by Purdue Coach Matt Painter out of a Box Set. Purdue runs a pass entry into a UCLA screening action. With the opposite big popping to the TOK, the PG sets a shuffle cut and runs into a double stagger. On the pass to the TOK, the wing then runs baseline off a triple screen to the opposite side looking to make the defense chase. At the end, Purdue runs a "hamer screen" action off a guard-to-guard exchange and as a last option a SPNR into a shot behind the SPNR See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPurude Coach Matt Painter does a good job with his offensive sets and here's a play which can be run as part of the Early Offense. Double Stagger action with an initial down screen action which could yield a quick pull-up in the middle of the lane. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNice after time out set, starting with Butler on the wing and both bigs screen for him toward the sweet spot or the center at the top of the key. After Butler clears the second screen, Gasol opens up an receives the pass form the point guard. Butler times this perfect in the video and drives hard off his outside leg and sprints to the rim for a lob. See More
