04/23/2015Here are 3 options from the Dallas Mavericks to get Dirk Nowitzki a shot on a pick & pop. In option 1, the ball is reversed through Nowitzki to 3 on the right side of the floor. Nowitzki sets a ball-screen for 3 and pops for a shot. In option 2, 5 sets a ball-screen for 1 to drive baseline. 5 rolls and Nowitzki replaces 5. In option 3, Nowitzki flips the ball-screen for 3 so that he can drive baseline. Nowitzki pops towards the elbow for a shot. See More

04/21/2015With the growing amount of teams using the ball screen in today's game; we decided to implement a couple simple quick ball screen actions that were not apart of our basic ball screen movements. The Ball screen is one of the toughest actions to guard in today's game. We have found it easy to get a get quality look in the lane off our ball screen sets. I discussed in my article published in the Winning Hoops Magazine (Sept./Oct. 04/21/2015In this Flex Option from OKC, the ball is reversed to the left wing starting the flex action at the right post. 4 screens for 2 who cuts into the lane. 5 screens down for 4. If 4 gets the ball without a shot, he can pass to 1 and set a ball-screen or dribble towards 1 giving him the ball on a dribble hand-off. See More

Bulls Secondary Hand-Off for Rose
04/21/2015In this play, Rose starts with the ball and passes to the trail man then cuts to the opposite corner. The ball is moved to the right wing as 4 screens away for 2. If 2 isn't open, he passes to 4 on the pop as 1 cuts across the baseline around a staggered screen from 5 and 3. If Rose isn't open on the stagger, he cuts into the lane looking to get the hand-off from 4. Through all off the actions, Rose circles the entire floor forcing his defender to chase him around. 04/21/2015Here are two stagger screen options from the Chicago Bulls. To intitiate the play, 1 dribbles left sending 3 across the floor. 3 loops around a staggered screen from 2 and 4 at the right elbow. The first look by 1 is to pass to 3 at the rim. In option 1, 3 cuts back to the right wing off of the staggered screen from 4 and 2. In option 2, 3 cuts off of a down-screen from 5 while 4 sets a flare-screen for 2. See More

Clipper Stagger Options
04/20/2015Here are 3 stagger options from the Clippers. In option 1, 1 cuts off of a staggered screen and gets a hand-off from 5 on the wing. If 1 doesn't have a scoring option, 1 passes to 2 on the wing letting 2 look to penetrate and kick. In option 2, 1 uses the staggered screen and the bottom screener runs to the weak side off of a down-screen from 4. 5 dribbles across the floor looking to pass instead of the hand-off to the point guard. In option 3, 1 comes off of the staggered screen as tight as possible looking to get the hand-off from 5 inside the 3-point line. See More
