Basketball Play - Stack

Stack

Kyle Gilreath 05/02/2013

This is a baseline out of bounds play that I ran this season with my high school team. Initially when I drew up this action I invisioned utilizing the ending of the play to get 5 a lay-up. But the option that was usually open was 3 cutting to the wing for a shot. 5 was rarely open for 2 reasons; one was a lack of patience and two being that they would forget to run this option. Nevertheless, this is a simple play that I believe can be utilized at every level of the game. See More

Basketball Play - Zone Inbounds- Low Stack

Zone Inbounds- Low Stack

Daniel Murphy 04/20/2013

We have run this play with great success at the freshmen, junior varsity, and u15 aau level. It is a very simple, yet effective baseline inbounds play against a 2-3 zone. Make sure 1 is your best shooter so if the defense stays home, you have a wide open look at a 3, or to drag the defense to the corner to open up the screening action inside. See More

Last night in their game versus the Brooklyn Nets, the Dallas Mavericks ran this baseline out of bounds their play during the 2nd Half. This is a great screen the screener set that my high school team ran this year; but we never added the second screen. See More

Basketball Play - X Corner

X Corner

Kyle Brown 03/18/2013

A great blob action against a zone. Timing is really important and the read for the inbounder should be X4 in the diagrams. If X4 goes with the 2 then 5 will be open, if X4 stays in then 2 should be open. 5 has to work to Post hard on X5 and keep him occupied. See More

Basketball Play - Hanover-Double Curl into Hand Off

Hanover-Double Curl into Hand Off

Kyle Brown 02/27/2013

A very good blob I saw from Hanover against Rose Hulman on Saturday. A different alignment and only a single guy setting the screen in the double curl action makes it harder to guard. Hanover was able to get their PG an easy layup off this look. The play could be finished a lot of different ways with screening actions on the backside or the 4 man diving to the rim. See More

Basketball Play - Stevenson-Triple

Stevenson-Triple

Kyle Brown 02/25/2013

A good blob from a high school game this week. A natural triple for a shooter that the team scored twice on. The first time they slipped the last screen and the second time they got an open 3 for the player they were setting the triple for. Could also run a single double action out of this or run it against a zone. See More
