Favorite Send to FastDrawMemphis Grizzlies ran this floppy cross screen play after a timeout against the Portland Trailblazers in Game 2 (First Round). Memphis ended up giving ball to Marc Gasol in the high seam... However, also a great isolation play for Zach Randolph (4). See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPortland Trailblazers ran this play in game 2 of the Portland-Memphis series. With Lillard's speed and Portland's execution of spacing and screening, Lillard gets a clear drive to the rim. If Lillard decides to shoot the ball of the high ball screen, Robin Lopez (5) has great rebounding position. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Memphis Grizzles have run this action throughout game 1 and now in game 2 of the Memphis-Portland series. Very effective as it provides isolation opportunties along with simultaneous action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe play is initiated with a pass to 5 at the elbow. Once 5 has the ball, down-screens on both sides of the floor are set by 4 and 1. If 2 and 3 aren't open on the down-screens, 3 looks to curl around 5 for a hand-off. 3 attacks into the lane looking to score or pass off to a shooter. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this counter option, 3 fakes as if he is going to cut off of the cross-screen and instead curls around the double down-screen from 4 and 5. 2 follows behind 3 to cut off of the double down-screen to the top of the key for a shot. 1 can look to drive his man 1 on 1 on the left side or pass to either 3 or 2 for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the left wing sending 2 from the corner into the lane to screen for 3. 3 cuts to the ball-side post off of the cross-screen. 2 cuts to the top of the key for a shot off of a double down-screen from 4 and 5. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a simple but effective ATO play that Cleveland ran against Boston. It's a 1-3 high pick and pop with James Jones and Kyrie Irving, and the pin down action for 3 to start the play puts x3 in a trailing position and unable to make a hard hedge against Irving. As 1 throws back to an open Jones, 5 ducks in and occupies his defender, forcing x2 to rotate and leaving J.R. Smith wide open for a corner 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn the first Final Four game between Michigan State and Duke the Blue Devils ran this set successfully four straight times for baskets. The action was very simple as the horns set had a big cross screen right into a ball screen. Michigan State couldn’t guard this set in the first half and it led to Duke building a lead they would never lose. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a counter that we use for "Drag". We try to create a decoy action with the dribble handoff to get the defense to show their coverage. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith the growing amount of teams using the ball screen in today's game; we decided to implement a couple simple quick ball screen actions that were not apart of our basic ball screen movements. The Ball screen is one of the toughest actions to guard in today's game. We have found it easy to get a get quality look in the lane off our ball screen sets. I discussed in my article published in the Winning Hoops Magazine (Sept./Oct. Edition) -"Using Ball Screens in your Motion Offense" that we generally use our ball screen actions after we get the defense moving. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this flex option, 2 cuts up towards the top of the key instead of into the lane on the cross screen. 5 moves down to set the staggered screen for 2 cutting up for a shot. 3 passes to 2 for a shot at the top of the key. If 2 doesn't have a shot, he passes to 1 then clears to the ball-side corner. 5 screens for 1 and 1 attacks into the lane. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this play, the Thunder get into a flex action by reversing the ball from 1 to 3 on the left wing. 4 screens for 2, but instead of 5 screening down he moves to the opposite elbow. 3 looks to pass inside to 2 posting up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this Flex Option from OKC, the ball is reversed to the left wing starting the flex action at the right post. 4 screens for 2 who cuts into the lane. 5 screens down for 4. If 4 gets the ball without a shot, he can pass to 1 and set a ball-screen or dribble towards 1 giving him the ball on a dribble hand-off. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere are 4 Horns Options from Golden State. In option 1, Curry attacks the high staggered ball-screen from left to right. As Curry dribbles right, Bogut and Lee move down to the corner to screen for Thompson. If Curry doesn't have a shot, he passes ot Thompson at the top of the key. In option 2, Curry splits the high staggered ball-screen at the top of the key for a drive or shot. In option 3, Curry drives into the lane looking to pass to Bogut rolling to the corner or he can kick it out for a 3-point shot. In option 4, Igoudala moves to the right side of the floor. As Curry drives off of the screen, Bogut rolls and Lee pops. If Lee gets the ball, he looks to drive or pass out for a shot. See More
